If reports are to be believed the cutest couple of Tollywood, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, and wife Samantha may soon act together in a film for the first time post their wedding. The couple have acted together previously in films like Ye Maaya Chesave, Autonagar Surya and Manam.

It is heard that Naga Chaitanya and Samantha may do a romantic subject and it would be directed by Ninnu Kori director Shiva Nirvana. A source close to the couple said that Chay liked the subject and requested Sam to act together in the film. It is also being said that the couple have already heard the narration and have agreed in principle, however, a final confirmation regarding this is waited from them. If this materializes, then it will be one of the most watchable films in Telugu industry this year since it will be the first film for Chay and Sam together post their wedding.

Samantha Akkineni currently has a line-up of films this year gearing up for release including Telugu and Tamil. Samantha would be seen playing a journo in Mahanati which is a biopic on yesteryear legend actress Savitri. Besides Mahanati, Samantha also has Rangasthalam alongside Ram Charan. On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya has two films lined up currently – Savyasachi directed by Chandoo Mondeti and a Sailaja Reddy Alludu film with director Maruthi.

Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s new movie shooting started today in Hyderabad. This is Chaitu’s 16th flick, and actress Anu Emmanuel is romancing with Chay. Sailaja Reddy Alludu is the title under consideration for this movie.

Ramya Krishna is playing an important role in this flick. The film is being directed by Maruthi and produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments banner. Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya is busy with the shooting of Savyasachi in the direction of Chandoo Mondeti.

The director immediately approached the noted writer Akula Siva and readied an interesting subject which was formally launched. Due to some financial issues, the film never happened. Akula Siva, who was irked of waiting immediately took the subject to Vinayak and then Sai Dharam Tej which is now being made as Dharam Bhai in the production of CK Entertainments.

Sai Dharam’s next film in Vinayak’s direction was supposed to be Chay’s but very few in the industry know this fact.

Samantha will be taking up the Telugu/Tamil remake of Kannada thriller U-Turn and reports suggest that she will be bankrolling the film in both the languages as well. It is heard that Samantha’s remake will be helmed by Pawan Kumar, who had directed the original Kannada version too. This will also mark the debut of the director in both Tollywood and Kollywood.

As per latest reports, Samantha had even visited Bengaluru, along with Naga Chaitanya, to watch a preview cut of the film. She had discussed the remake with the director at that time.

U-Turn is a critically acclaimed Kannada film released in 2016. The film had a successful run and completed 100 days at the box office. The film featured Shraddha Srinath in the lead. The others in the cast include Dilip Raj, Roger Narayan and Radhika Chetan playing crucial roles.

Meanwhile, Samantha is busy shooting for Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam 1985 and Mahanati.
