Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal scored the biggest blockbuster of the industry recently with the political action thriller Lucifer. It is the only Malayalam film to collect over Rs. 150 crores at the box office. The film was dubbed into Telugu and Tamil as well. Now, we got a new update on it.

The makers have officially announced the sequel fo this film, titled Empuraan. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who directed the first part, will also helm this sequel It will be bankrolled on a massive budget by Antony Perumbavoor. Murali Gopy will be penning the script for it.

Stalwarts like Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran played the key roles in the first part. We have to see who will get roped in for this sequel. Stay tuned for further details on this big project.

Malayalam complete actor Mohanlal is in the film business for almost four decades now. As an actor, producer and distributor, he came up with a lot of projects. Now, Mohanlal announced his debut as a director.

Yesterday, he released a voice note and a press note where he mentioned that he is planning to turn a director for ‘Barroz’, a 3-D film set in a Portuguese backdrop about a man who stands guard to a 400-year-old treasure of Vasco da Gama, the explorer. The project will be made in multiple languages like Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

If the latest reports are to be believed, the makers of Janatha Garage have committed to 1.5 Crore in addition with the Malayalam dubbing rights of the film as his remuneration. Apparently, the makers thought that the film won’t fetch more than 2 crores for Malayalam rights and they calculated around 3 Crores as his remuneration along with dubbing rights.

But coming to everyone’s surprise, Malayalam rights of the film were sold for a whopping 4 crores and Mohanlal has bagged a total of 5.5 crores as per the deal. Well, this is indeed a jackpot to Mohanlal. The shooting of the film is going on at a brisk pace, and the film is scheduled to hit the screens on August 12th, 2016

Young Tiger Jr NTR will act in a new movie in the direction of Koratala Siva after completions of his current film “Nannaku Prematho”. Now the big news is that Malayalam Superstar Mohan Lal will play an important role Jr NTR’s 26th movie. The Mythri Movie Makers have officially confirmed this news through their social media page. Mythri Movie Makers are producing the film.

Recently Mythri Movie Makers produced a film Srimanthudu with Mahesh Babu directed by Koratala Siva. Now once again Koratala Siva working for the same banner, but this time hero has been changed.

Jr NTR and Koratala Siva movie will start in 2016, and Devi Sri Prasad will score the music. Meanwhile, NTR is busy with his upcoming film Nannaku Prematho, which is almost in the final stage and it will hit the silver screens on January 8 2016.

Finally there is confirmation! Mohanlal starrer Mr Fraud will be released on May 17 in theatres across the state as all the fighting concludes after holding the entire industry hostage for days.

It was the producer of the film, A V Anoop who made this statement after clarifying that the movie will not come out on the 8th, as he had not yet received the final cut from the director, B Unnikrishnan. Unnikrishnan too had already told the press that post production work on the movie was not complete and would require an additional week.

Interestingly though, it was the very same Unnikrishnan who campaigned for the move to be released on the 8th and if not, promised a ban on all new releases with the authorization of his organization, FEFKA. Now, it seems he has changed tunes.

Whatever the impetus be, the grudge match between FEFKA, the producers and FEF is done with. In fact, it was the producers association that met yesterday with the distributors and hurried the deal along.

The movie which has a tagline of ‘one man, many faces’ is about Mohanlal’s character who is a fraudster who gets his way through cunning means and a mysterious ‘mission’ he has to complete. Rumors suggest it could be a heist.

Mia George and Pallavi Chandran play the female leads while Siddique, Dev Gill and others form the rest of the cast.

The photo cards that have been released show Lal in at least five different looks including a rather dashing salt n pepper look which the leading lady Pallavi herself referred to as ‘hot and sensational’.

So after all the bru ha ha, the big day is soon approaching for this highly anticipated movie.
