Mahanati is one of the crazy projects in Telugu film industry right now. The film is based on the life of legendary actress Savitri. The biopic is directed by Nag Ashwin who made his directional debut with Yevade Subramanyam. The makers released the teaser of the film which is nothing short of a visual feast. The tremendous response to the film’s teaser reveals how people are waiting to watch the movie.

The film has become one of the rare films in the recent times which was short with film stock. This is certainly a rare achievement from the makers as it is not really very easy to shoot the film with livestock. The film’s track featuring Samantha and Vijay Devarakonda was shot on film while Keerthi Suresh’s track was shot on Digital.

The film is going to hit the screens on May 9th.

We all know that Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Mahanati Savitri in the biopic of the legendary actress. Amidst huge expectations, the makers have finally released the teaser and it completely steals the show. The film is going to get released in Telugu and Tamil languages.

The film is titled as Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil and it is directed by debutant filmmaker Nag Ashwin. Samantha will be seen as a journalist and Vijay as her assistant. The actress looks convincing as the legendary actress and the film are all about the filmy journey of Mahanati. The life story of Savitri shown to the audience in the journalist point of view and the teaser ended with the scene, in which Savitri post-pregnancy and the introduction of Dulquer Salmaan, who plays the role of Gemini Ganesan, the Tamil star who married Savitri.

Much awaited teaser of Mahanati will be out on April 14th. The first look of elegant beauty Keerthy Suresh who is reprising legendary actress Savitri in the film will also be revealed along with the teaser.

The motion poster released yesterday revealing the looks of Vijay Devarakonda as Vijay Antony and Samantha Akkineni as Madhuravani received a huge response from the audience. A Retro style looks with Vijay sitting on a scooter and Samantha in a sidecar enhanced the expectations on this periodic biopic.

Director Naga Ashwin and his team of technicians have been on a mission recreating the golden era of Telugu Cinema on the silver screen. Dr. Mohan Babu will appear in a special cameo as SV Rangarao. The film also features Dulquer Salman, Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad, Malavika Nair, Bhanu Priya, Divya Vani, Srinivas Aavasarala and others.

Interestingly, directors Krish Jagarlamudi and Tharun Bhascker are also part of the ensemble cast. Mahanati is all set for a grand release on May 9th.

The makers of Mahanti revealed the surprise as promised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of actress Savitri. The surprise is the logo of the film, released in the form of a video, making the wait worth it.

In the video, one can see a huge ornate wooden box standing in the middle of a room, with light shining on it. Soon, a dialogue comes up saying, “Adi priydarshini vadina, aa petika terichi chuste, andulo evari priya vastuvu valaki kanipistundi.”

Later old dialogues from Savitri’s films can be heard as the camera zooms onto the box. A woman comes and opens the box, revealing a starry night sky in the lid. “Some stories are meant to be epic,” read some slides and the Mahanati logo is revealed in gold as the music reaches a crescendo. “Come be a part of history, 29 March, 2018,” reads the concluding slide. The music playing in the video seems to offer a glimpse into the title song.

‘Mahanati’ stars Keerthy Suresh in the role of Savitri, while Dulquer Salmaan will essay Gemini Ganesan. It is also rumoured that Vijay Deverakonda will play the role of ANR and Shalini Pandey will play the role of Jamuna. Samantha also has a crucial role in the film, rumoured to be that of a journalist.
