Cast and Performance

R Madhavan as Adi is excellent. His gigantic cutout is apt for the role and his powerful performance takes movie to a greater heights. His expressions speaks a lot in climax. Ritika Singh, who is a boxer by profession is a perfect selection for her role. She performed equally to R Madhavan. Her performance makes us to forget that it is her debut film. Her transformation from a naughty girl to responsible girl is superb. Another newcomer Mumtaz Sarcar did a nice job as Lakshmi aka Laks, sister of Madhi. Nassar, Radha Ravi, Zakir, Kaali Venkat did what is required for their small roles.

Saala Khadoos Trailer

R .Madhavan and Ritika Singh starring Saala Khadoos movie official theatrical trailer is out now. The movie directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by R Madhavan and Rak Kumar Hirani.

Adi Tomar had a dream to win the boxing gold for India. Instead he languished in a nightmare for a decade as his gloves were spiked during an all-important match, blinding him in the arena and handing the match to his undeserving opponent—a mediocre boxer but a political powerhouse. The culprit was his own coach, Dev Khatri. Shattered by his loss, and disillusioned by the state of Indian boxing, Adi turned to a life of cynical self-destruction of booze, brothels and bar-fights. Loyal friends somehow bring him back to boxing as the coach of the lowly rated Indian women’s boxing team. His outspoken honesty sends jitters through his old adversaries, and he is soon transferred to Chennai—the Siberia of Indian boxing. But Adi continues to dream but this time for a free-spirited, fiery young woman from the fishing community, Madhi. Adi spots in her a champion that could bring India the gold that he was robbed off. But first Adi must earn her trust, then tame her impetuosity and finally make her dream… all this in just nine months before the world championship. And so begins an uneasy partnership between a man who loves his sport and a girl who loves her freedom. Rigor and rebellion, structure and free spirit collide. It is the beginning of a beautiful friendship and a journey towards an impossible dream.

Saala Khadoos movie will hit the big screens worldwide on 29th of January.

Madhavan is back in Kollywood!

R Madhavan’s return to movies after a lengthy break had been very publicized and followed by his fans everywhere, and now that day is finally upon us.

Madhavan Back to Kollywood

The actor’s upcoming Tamil flick, Irudhi Chutru, launched a couple of days back on July 14th, when the Pooja of the movie was held. The entire cast and crew of the movie attended the function including Madhavan.

The shooting is set to launch on July 21st in Chennai, if things go as planned and Madhavan’s parts in the flick will be among the first to be shot. The director of this film is Sudha K Prasad of Drohi fame, and Sashikanth of YNot Studios will be the man producing it. Santhosh Narayanan will score the tunes for this one.

Now about the story..

Apparently, the plot of the movie revolves around women’s boxing. Madhavan plays a boxing coach and the purpose of the movie, or at least one of its main intents, is to raise awareness about the female division of this sport in our nation.

This is exemplified in the movie as many real life female boxers will be tackling some onscreen roles for it.

Madhavan has gone through an intense physical transformation to get in to character for this film. Gone is the boy next door charming quality he carried through in many of his movies and here comes the new persona of the rough and tough, no nonsense weathered sportsman.

He will be seen sporting a long haired, thick bearded look and a much more buffed up, muscular physique in the movie.

So it definitely feels like Irudhi Chutru is one to look forward to..

Keep following Chitramala for your daily dose of entertainment!
