Actress Iniya is a popular film personality in Kollywood and Mollywood. The actress was shot to fame with her unique performance in the film Vaagaisoodava. The actress is a multi-talented personality who is now gearing up to exhibit her other talent.

The actress is going to act in a music album which is based on dance. The music album is going to be based on the life of a dancer and it will have a run time of 8 minutes. Miya is the title of the album which is going to be dedicated to the cancer patients. The money generated through the audio album will be given for the treatment of the cancer patients. Ashwin Jhonson is the music director of the movie.

“This is my first trail. I thank everyone who supported me in the journey,” said Iniya.

R Kannan’s upcoming flick Oru Oorla Rendu Raja, or OORR as it is called, is almost finished in terms of the actual filming work and the director is more than thrilled. The flick stars Vemal and Priya Anand in the lead roles and has been touted as an entertainer for the mass audiences.

But we all know the main reason why the film has been in the news before now, don’t we. It is the infamous item number in the film that has been source of rumours flying around since day one. It was for this song that Sunny Leone allegedly demanded the exorbitant paycheque of Rs 35 lacs and later backed out due to date issues.

News or rather false news then spread that the stunning starlet swaying her hips for this song would be the sensual Neethu Chandra, but that too turned out to be idle gossip.

Finally, it was revealed that actress Iniya, the dusky diva of Vaagai Sooda Vaa fame, would be donning a new avatar for the film in the masala song.

“Only some portions worth a day’s shoot of Iniya’s song and another day of certain fight sequences choreographed by stunt director Silva remain as far as filming goes.

We should be done in a couple of days time.” Says R Kannan.

The flick also stars Anupama Kumar in a unique role. She plays Nasser’s wife in the film and her character has some darker sides in this one. Soori too plays a pivotal role.

P G Muthaiah has handled the cinematography of the film, while D Imman is the man behind the melodies.

Produced by Global Entertainment, the flick’s audio launch should be in a month’s time or so say the sources.

The rumours surrounding the R Kannan movie Oru Oorle Rendu Raaja (OORR) just keep on flying. The first piece of real news was that Sunny Leone was to do an item song in the movie, after her immense success doing the same in the Jai starrer Vadacurry, and that she had demanded an exorbitant paycheque of Rs 35 lacs to do it.

It later came to be known that Sunny had backed out of the project citing scheduling and logistical issues. Then followed the reports that the sizzling starlet Neethu Chandra had grabbed the spot and was to do the so called ‘rain song’ in the movie, and soon enough these were proved to be false also.

Now, without any updates since, the director has posted this on his Facebook page:

So apparently the songs have been shot, but with who swaying their hips to the beats?

It is at this juncture that the latest news has surfaced that the diva to replace the two previous so called candidates is none other than the dusky beauty Iniya!
Iniya shot to fame with the movie Vaagai Sooda Vaa and has also appeared in many movies since like Mouna Guru, Masaani, Chennaiyil Oru Naal and Naan Sigappu Manithan. She has also appeared some Malayalam movies and television shows, including the acclaimed movie Ayal.

The Kerala born actress, originally named Shruthi Sawant, was in the news recently when her house was robbed and it turned out, in true cinematic fashion, that it was her would be brother in law who was behind the whole thing.

So, has misfortune finally left the actress and is she now the glamour girl in this much discussed flick?

Let’s wait for a denial or confirmation from the parties involved.

It was just in a matter of days that actress Iniya’s family went through an emotional hell of sorts and it seems the waters are nowhere near being calm yet. First, a major theft at their house in Thiruvananthapuram rocked their lives as almost Rs 6 lacs in cash and valuable gold ornaments were taken.

But matters went from bad to really worse when the police discovered who was behind it – Iniya’s sister Swathy’s fiancé – Shabin. The theory from the police after they arrested him was that in urgent need of money, he hatched the plan to rob the family with a friend of his named Rajan (a petty criminal with a long rap sheet).

Unable to do it on the night of the engagement as planned, he arranged it so that he along with the family would be out for a movie while Rajan and two others carried out the theft. Shabin had supplied them with duplicate keys to the almarah he had acquired over time as he had been a frequent visitor at the house and was trusted by the family.

As of now, Shabin and another culprit have been arrested while Rajan and one another have absconded. The cops have managed to reclaim almost Rs 2.5 lacs of the missing money.

But now, Iniya’s version is rather different.

She says that Shabin comes from a wealthier family than theirs, as far as they knew, and he himself was doing well as a small businessman. She says her sister and he had met through mutual friends, and later he had asked her parents for Swathy’s hand in marriage.

The parents of the couple had met and things had proceeded from there. Iniya also adds she liked and respected Shabin as he was her older sister’s fiancé, but also because he was a good and rather soft spoken fellow.

“We do not know what prompted him to do this. We haven’t spoken to him yet. Something feels wrong. It feels like the real culprits are missing.” Iniya said to the media. “Maybe he fell into some bad company that influenced his actions.”

She also emphasized that she was giving her sister a few days to relax and process things before making a decision. It must, quite understandably, be devastating for her without all the answers.

As far as they were concerned, the wedding has still not been called off until the matter is completely resolved.

In true cinematic fashion, it turns out the real culprit was in the family itself! Let’s recap first, to last week when there was a major theft at actress Iniya’s home in Thiruvananthapuram, and the burglars got away with almost Rs 6 lacs in cash and some very valuable gold ornaments. The family of the actress was away watching the late show of a movie at a local theatre when the theft happened.

Now the police have found the culprits behind the theft and it seems the real mastermind was none other than the actress’s sister Swathy’s would be groom – Shabin. The young man who hailed from a financially poor background was in need of some money urgently and this robbery was the means to it.
The plan was hatched between Shabin and Rajan, a small time criminal with a long rap sheet, and the original plan (tragically) was to rob the family of his fiancé the night of their engagement.

Talk about cold blooded and heartless!

However, when that plan did not work out, their hands were forced and it was Shabin who informed Rajan when the family, along with him, were going out at night. Guess who’s idea it was for everyone to go see a movie? Shabin’s!

The calculating youth had already found out about the cash and gold kept at the house and had acquired over time a set of duplicate keys to the almarah. Shabin accomplished all this as he had been given the freedom to come and go in the house as he wished, by the all too trusting family.

In the end of course, justice did prevail and already around Rs 2.5 lacs of the money has been recovered by the cops. Shabin and one of the other culprits, Saju, have been arrested while the other two involved – Rajan and an unnamed person have absconded.

While we have to feel glad that things turned out well in the end – to some extent at least – our hearts do go out to the family, who still haven’t gotten all their hard earned property back and must be devastated that someone they gave their trust to – someone who they were about to bless with the hand of their daughter in wedlock no less – turned out to be so disloyal and treacherous.

We wish the family the very best and hope they pull through out of this mess in the end stronger than ever..

Actress Shruthi Sawant, better known by her screen name Iniya, just had a burglary at her home in Thiruvananthapuram in which, approximately Rs 5 lacs in cash and valuable gold ornaments, also worth lacs, were stolen!

The police, along with their dog squad, have been mobilized and it is not known yet if there has been development in the search for the culprits. The actress lives at home with her parents and the theft, apparently took place when the family was out for a late night show of a movie.

The father of the 21 year old Kerala born starlet, told the media that the ornaments and the cash were for his daughter’s wedding, which they had collected over the years. No – it doesn’t mean Iniya is about to tie the knot soon (that we know of at least)!

The beautiful actress, with her dusky complexion and sultry looks had turned heads the first time in the Tamil movie – Vaagai Sooda Vaa – in which her performance was acclaimed critically and opened new doors for her.

It was for this movie that she changed her name to Iniya as she felt Shruthi was a very common name and didn’t stand out much. Anyway, Iniya became a recognised face especially because of the songs in the period flick like ‘Sara sara saara kaathu’ and ‘Poraney poraney’ which became chart topping hits.

Although it was Kollywood that welcomed the actress with open arms, she had done some minor work in Malayalam before; but undoubtedly it was the Tamil movie’s success that got her noticed and she went on to play a pivotal role in the Malayalam film Ayal starring Lal which also gathered up quite a few laurels.

Well, it looks like lady luck left her side with this incident though and hopefully the police manage to recover the stolen property.
