Kannada film producer Jayashree Devi has been jailed after a city court convicted her in a cheque bounce case. She has been sentenced to undergo six months of imprisonment.
In 2005, she had borrowed Rs17.40 lakh from S Anand, a producer, distributor and owner of Ashwini Pictures. She had given a cheque to Anand to return the money, but the cheque bounced.
She went missing later. Two weeks ago, the court had issued an arrest warrant against her. She was remanded in judicial custody.
Bandla Ganesh who is often compared as the blockbuster producer in the film industry is in a big trouble now. The producer was sentenced to jail by Erramanzil court. The court has given its decision to sentence him jail for six months and also laid a fine of Rs 15.86 lakhs. This is regarding a cheque bounce case that took place during the time of the film Temper.
Star writer Vakkantham Vamshi filed a case against Bandla Ganesh claiming that Ganesh has given him an invalid cheque as a remuneration. The court has apparently investigated into the matter and found Bandla Ganesh guilty. Bandla Ganesh has immediately applied for bail and the court granted him the bail with certain conditions.
Prabodh, a brother of Young Rebel Star Prabhas, was sentenced to one-year imprisonment in a cheque bounce case. According to reports, Rajendranagar magistrate court gave its verdict in a case where UVSS Prabodh issued a cheque for Rs 43 lakh to a businessman towards a payment, but it bounced due to lack of funds in his account.
The court sentenced Prabodh to one-year imprisonment and ordered him to pay 80 lakhs within two months from the date of the judgement. Prabodh has two months time to clear the fine to evade imprisonment and further complications. Well, we need to wait and see if Prabhas will come to the rescue of his brother.
Meanwhile, Prabhas is currently shooting for Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 in a specially erected set in Ramoji Film City. An action episode is being canned on Prabhas with a group of artists. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on April 14th, 2017.
It seems that the court cases and arrest warrants continue to haunt former actress turned filmmaker Jeevitha Rajasekhar. A fresh arrest warrant has been sued against her in another cheque bounce case.
Just a couple of months ago, she was relieved from a cheque bounce case and in no time, Jeevitha found herself in yet another cheque bounce issue.
Going into details, Jeevitha borrowed Rs.5 lakhs from a person named BV Jagadish of Nandyal town on 6th June 2013. Later, she issued him a cheque for the same, but Jagadish filed a case against her on 15th October 2015, after the cheque bounced in the bank.
Although the court summoned Jeevitha to appear before it for a hearing, Jeevitha ignored to attend the court proceedings hence the 1st Class Magistrate Court in Nandyal has now issued an arrest warrant against the actress.
Popular Tollywood Writer, father of SS Rajamouli- Mr. Vijayendra Prasad has been freed from a cheque bounce case that was reported on him recently. Payakaraopeta MLA runner-up Changala Venkata Rao has filed a defamation case over Vijayendra Prasad for a cheque bounce. Yellamanchili JFCM court has stirked off the case that was lodged in the past.
Cine Producer Ex-MLA up Changala Venkata Rao received a cheque of Rs 30 Lakh in 2011. This cheque bared the name of Andhra Bank. With this cheque being bounced, Venkata Rao filed a case in the court of JFCM in Yellamanchili. After four years of prosecution the court headed by Judged Narayana gave the verdict in favour of Vijayendra Prasad as the plaintiff could provide necessary proof’s that go against the defendant.
Though the verdict should have come on Wednesday, Vijayendra Prasad, who didn’t attend the court made the judge reserve the verdict for the next day. With Prasad being ordered to visit court the next day, he along with his lawyers and high court advocates have reached the court on Thursday at 3 PM.
Whether Changala Venkata Rao will appeal in High Court is still to be known.
Tollywood senior actor Suman filed a complaint on director Gunasekhar for cheque bounce on today at Nampally Police Station. As per the reports Suman played an important role in Guna Sekhar’s forthcoming film “Rudhramadevi” and for that producer cum director of the movie Gunasekhar has given a cheque of Rs 5 lakhs to Suman, but that cheque has bounced. After that Suman contacted the director but Suman didn’t get the proper response from Guna Sekhar. So, Suman approached the police. More details are awaited.
