Anjali Menon must be getting bored on cloud nine by now, after all, she’s been up there forever!
Bangalore Days is the biggest hit in Malayalam history beating Drishyam or soon will be, and film makers are queuing up to remake the film in other languages! What more could the director/writer ask for?!
We recently learned that PVP Films owned by Prakash V Potluri bagged the nationwide remake rights of the film and we were promised a Tamil/Telugu bilingual remake of the flick first. Then came the exciting news that Arya, Bharath and Samantha will be the ones replacing the original star cast from Malayalam!
Now there are more updates on.. well, everything!
It seems the bilingual may become two separate films altogether – one in Tamil and the other in Telugu – each with its own star studded cast. This is a possibility that excites the audiences of both industries.
Samantha, in any case, said she’s thrilled to be onboard the project. And guess who’s replacing Fahadh, folks.. it’s none other than Siddharth Narayan!
Director Bhaskar of Bommarilu fame is the man chosen to be at the helm.
Also, now there’s going to be a Bollywood remake!
Oh yeah, it seems the biggies in Mumbai are in stiff competition to direct the flick. Of course Bangalore may change to Mumbai in the flick, and some would think this would jeopardize the whole plot which revolves around Malayali youths in the Garden City.
But the market gurus are sure that the themes of the movie have a pan India appeal and can withstand the change and some other tweaks while retaining the essence of the original super hit!
And to think all this from a movie with a budget of Rs 9 crores or so (which it made back in three days by the way) made in this small industry of ours!
Way to go Anjali Menon! You certainly have proved that there is such a thing as the Midas touch.
