Musician, AR Rahman is all set to perform on August 15th in the UN General Assembly, the iconic hall from where global leaders address the world and legendary performers enthrall an international audience on the occasion of India’s 70th Independence Day celebrations. Rahman had got international recognition when he bagged two Oscars in 2009, for Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire”.

As for the sources, AR Rahman will become the second Indian musician to perform at UN after veteran Carnatic singer MS Subbulakshmi, where she had performed in UN General Assembly hall 50 years ago on October 1966. This was revealed by India’s ambassador to the UN Syed Akbaruddin tweet “Jai Ho to echo @UN ? AR Rahman to perform @un in homage to MS Subbulakshmi on India’s 70th Independence Day.”.

The Oscar-winning music composer A R Rahman, who is known for his calm attitude, has reportedly walked out of a forthcoming film starring Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.

Reportedly, AR Rahman was working on this Aamir Khan’s future project “Secret Super Star”. After working on the project for one year, Rahman composed some songs also however the project never took off. Meanwhile, Aamir got busy with ‘Dangal’.

When AR Rahman contacted Aamir Khan’s team to find out the status of the project, the team ignored him. An angry AR Rahman quit the project forcing the makers to look for an alternative.

AR Rahman has so many filmmakers running after him so he will lose nothing. He even has international offers in his kitty. It would definitely be a big loss for Aamir Khan.

The first look poster of AR Rahman’s debut production venture ’99 Songs’ has been unveiled by the Mozart himself and it is visually stunning.

The first look is a dream like posture of the two leadsin the middle of the sky. A piano is suspended from the sky to which the hero is holding on to with one hand while his other hand is holding heroine, who throws a large number of petals to form the 99 Songs title.

This movie is really close to Rahman as he himself provided the story. His production house YM Movies will produce this film in Tamil and Hindi. Ad filmmaker Vishwesh has been picked by Rahman to direct while the auditions for actors are under progress.

The movie is expected to go on floors by the year end.

Oscar-winning music composer, AR Rahman’s son Ameen, has made his Telugu cinema debut by singing his debut song in upcoming film titled “Nirmala Convent”.

It is said that the song has come out really well. Directed by Mohan, the film marks the debut of actor Srikanth’s teenage son Roshan.As the hero is a teenager, the makers wanted the voice of a young singer and who could be better than AR Rahman’s son.

Last year, Ameen sang in his father’s composition, Maula Wa Sallim song, for Mani Ratnam’s “O Kadhal Kanmani”.The song was a prayer in Arabic and it was a magic when rendered by Ameen.

“Nirmala Convent” has a strong supporting cast too. The film is produced by actor and filmmaker Nagarjuna under Annapurna Studios banner. He is playing a cameo in the film as well.

Oscar Award Winner A.R. Rahman will be honored with Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award on October 26th.

It is the fifth year of presenting Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award. Previous recipients were Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Asha Bhosle and actress Sulochana Tai. This year Rahman will be honoured with this award.

Hridaynath Mangeshkar is the brother of legendary singers Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar.

A.R.Rahman began his career as a music director with the South films. Later on, he debuted in Hindi and then in Hollywood.

Winning Academy Award for Original Score in 2009, made him popular globally.

Sultan on Indian Music, A.R. Rahman took his Facebook page to post that He has done music for Muhammed: Messenger of God for good purpose and not to offend anybody.

In the recent development, Mumbai-based Sunni Muslim group has issued a fatwa against A.R. Rahman and Iranian Film Maker Majidi for working together for a film on Prophet Muhammad.

The Muslim group felt that composing and directing a film on Muhammad isn’t good. Because if it turns out be a disaster or some other thing then everyone will speak about “Muhammad’s film” and will knock it. Showing this as a reason the Sunni Muslim group had issued the fatwa for Muslims not to watch it.

“I didn’t direct or produce the movie Muhammad: Messenger of God. I just did the music. My spiritual experiences of working on the film are very personal and I would prefer not to share these,” the Oscar Winning Musician wrote on his Facebook.

He further added that “I am not a Scholar of Islam. I follow the middle path and am part traditionalist and part extremist. I live in the western and eastern worlds and try to love all people for what they are, without judging them.”

Raza academy on Friday of last week has issued a Fatwa against the Iranian Director Majid Majidi, A.R. Rahman and co-workers of the film. Saeed Noorie, chief of Raza Academy, said, “They have made a mistake and they must apologise.”

Rahman also quoted the words of Noorie, who gave an interview of why he believes it is important to voice a complaint, saying that “If we face Allah, he shouldn’t say that we didn’t do anything to stop this from happening.” To which Rahman countered by saying “What, and if, I had the good fortune of facing Allah, and He were to ask me on Judgement Day: ‘I gave you faith, talent, money, fame and health… why did you not do music for my beloved Muhammad film?”

India’s pride Music Maestro A R Rahman’s house was Vandalised last night!

That’s right. The composer who is currently in Los Angeles,approached the cops after his house was vandalised!

Oscar and Grammy winning Indian musician A R Rahman took to the social media platform – Twitter early on Monday morning to share a photograph of a “vandalised” wall of his Los Angeles home.

The image, captioned, “Vandalism at my place in LA,” was posted on his official Facebook and Twitter pages and he was soon flooded with questions about his safety.

A friend of Rahman told a prominent media house, “Rahman was the first to discover the graffiti. He and his family are fine. Nobody broke into the house and damaged any property.”

“Such things are common in the US.”, added the friend who acted as Rahman’s spokesperson and addressed the queries of Rahman fans.

Rahman is not taking the incident lightly.
“Rahman has filed a police complaint and they are investigating the matter.”, revealed the source close to A.R. Rahman

On May 6, Rahman attended the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Million Dollar Arm’, the American sports drama film starring Jon Hamm.

The film’s music composed by A.R. Rahman, features collaborations with hip-hop artist Iggy Azalea, rapper Wale and KT Tunstall.

Well, now that his friend has confirmed his safety, ‘Rahman’iacs can heave a sigh of relief.

The director of the movie, Soundarya Ashwin, has confirmed that the release of the mega budget, much hyped 3D animated epic ‘Kochadaiyaan’ starring Rajnikanth has been pushed from the previous date of April 11^th due to the upcoming general elections. Though they have not decided on a new date as of yet, the buzz is that it may come out on May 1^st.

“It was a dream directing my father as a warrior and a dancer, to see him play the ‘rudra thandava’ onscreen,” Said Soundarya. She also denied all rumours that the part was first offered to Big B, Amitabh Bachan, “Rajnikanth had always been my first choice.”

She thanked others involved in the project namely, Deepika Padukone who plays the female lead, Jackie Shroff, Shobhana, Nasser and finally, A.R. Rahman for the soul touching music.

The superstar is appearing in this revolutionary new film for Kollywood in a triple role, no less.
