As per reports, about 2500 children have acted with Mahesh in a special scene for his new film that is being directed by Murugadoss. As a token of gratitude, Mahesh has now sent them a special Diwali gift, a box containing chocolates and goodies.

A ‘Happy Diwali’ message was printed on top of the box, which also contained a beautiful message reading, ‘Thank you to all my little friends for bringing so much fun and laughter to my place of work. Always keep shining. Love Mahesh Babu’.

Superstar Mahesh Babu has reportedly agreed to dub for his own voice for the Tamil version of his new film in the direction of AR Murugadoss.

For the past few years, Mahesh has been trying to conquer Tamil market but his efforts have been fruitless so far. His ‘Srimanthudu’ and ‘Brahmotsavam’ were released in Tamil Nadu on a big scale, but both the films failed to make an impact. A dubbing artist was used to dub for Mahesh’s voice in Tamil.

But, for his new film, film’s director Murugadoss has reportedly convinced Mahesh to lend his voice for the Tamil version as well. Since Mahesh was born and brought up in Tamil Nadu, he can speak fluent Tamil, and it won’t be a problem for him to dub in Tamil.

The film’s shooting is currently going on in Chennai. Rakul Preet Singh is the lead heroine.

A project in the combination of superstar Mahesh Babu and veteran director Mani Ratnam was in the news a year ago, but it was dropped in pre-production stage itself. The film’s writer Jaya Mohan has now revealed that budget was the reason for the scrap.

Said to be a spy thriller, the film was supposed to be extensively shot at a noted temple in Tamil Nadu. With the temple management not allotting permission for the film’s shooting, Mani Ratnam wanted to erect the temple set. However, the idea was soon dropped with the art director cautioning that the temple set itself costs the makers a whopping Rs 50 Cr.

Hence, Mani scrapped the project in pre-production stage itself feeling that the total budget could reach Rs 200 Cr, and it will be impossible to recover such high amount.

Mani is currently directing Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in a romantic drama.
