That’s right! In a recent interview with a prominent media house, Anushka revealed the secret behind her popularity.

“The secret to my popularity is my smile. Smile is a universal language that is liked by everyone. I like to smile when I meet people and I become friends easily. That is the secret of my success.” said the vivacious diva.

Thinking about it in a detailed manner, it’s quite surprising to see Anushka’s popularity with the masses. She has been around for a long time in the industry. Many of her contemporaries came and vanished soon. But she stood tall! She is perhaps more popular today than she used to be.

Well, some say it’s also because of her glowing skin and fitness as she was a yoga instructor before and continues to practice yoga which is very much a part of her lifestyle.

Meanwhile, Anushka is busy juggling between her ambitious projects “Rudrama Devi”, “Lingaa” and “Baahubali”.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun has been roped in Guna Sekhar’s upcoming historical film titled “Rudrama Devi”. As per the reports Allu Arjun is playing a powerful role in the film and will be seen as Gona Ganna Reddy. Anushka is playing the title role in the movie. As the shooting of Thala 55 progresses in Malaysia where some important scenes of the film involving Ajith and Anushka are being shot, the successful director that is Gautham Menon finally opened up a little about some things regarding the much awaited project.

“I was initially a little in fear of working with Ajith,” the director admitted. No, not because of anything ‘notorious’ about the actor’s professional attitude or quirks – just because he is one of the four major, tier one stars in Kollywood right now.

Gautham said that his fears were erased when he saw that Ajith was as friendly and professional as they come. “He soon put everyone working at the sets at ease,” added the film maker.

But the biggest relief as the director of the flick, for Gautham, came when he says Thala Ajith watched the first rushes of the film and said, quite casually, that this would definitely be one of his better films. Now that’s a great compliment coming from the superstar!

Gautham later confessed the nervousness that possessed him with this project had also come over him before, when beginning to work with Kamal Haasan in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006). That movie, of course, went on to become one of the year’s biggest hits and an important one for Kamal Haasan in recent years too.

So guess bad nerves just come with the territory..

Coming back to Thala 55 now, has a ‘real’ name been decided for the movie yet? The answer is… nope. The veteran director says they haven’t settled on a name just yet and many possibilities are under consideration right now.

If they do christen the tremendously hyped movie anytime soon, you will be the first to know.

Okay so, the now seriously hyped (perhaps a tad overhyped) Thala Ajith – Gautham Menon movie, which is currently in production, titled Thala 55 by the fans as its the star’s 55th movie has two more rumors buzzing around it – and the fans are ravenous for each tiny bit of potential news about the flick!

Yes, it was announced early on that Anushka Shetty will be the lead actress in the film, but then things got complicated when Trisha’s name too appeared in the mix. Rumors surrounding her part and even if she had a part, became tinsel town folks favorite topic. Thankfully, it was confirmed, so far as we can tell, that she is in fact in the movie.

Now the next set of rumors have come flying in and that’s that Anushka will be playing Ajith’s lover in the flick while Trisha would be playing his wife! Another piece of gossip is that Trisha’s part would be a villainous one!

Now who’s to say what’s true and what’s not, because Gautham Menon is as tight lipped about the plot and the characters as ever – the only thing for sure is that Ajith plays a cop.

Harris Jayaraj is composing the music for the film while Dan Macarthur is handling the cinematography. The shooting is progressing at a steady pace, and the release of the film is also ‘rumored’ to be around Diwali time.
