Verdict
Dear Comrade is the story of a “fight for the right of an individual”. This is an emotional journey of two characters who go through some disturbing incidents in their life. Director and writer Bharat Kamma has chosen a good story but he made it a lengthy one. Arjun Reddy, too is a lengthy movie but the length never bothered for that one but it bothers the audience here. The first half of the movie has set up the mood of the film and the second half explores the emotional aspect. The movie becomes very emotional towards the end with a message for the audience. This film has many similarities with Arjun Reddy, the way Vijay behaves, his anger issues and his love for the girl in his life and his friends, his no care attitude, etc. But what makes this movie different from that is the comrade and the emotional aspects of the movie. Most of the film runs on a very normal way which neither bores you nor entertains but the highs are very well placed in the screenplay. To be honest, Director Bharat Kamma stayed true to his story even though the comparisons with Arjun Reddy are inevitable. To sum up, Dear Comrade has its moments to entertain you this weekend.
