Theaters Owners Calling for a Bandh?

Recently ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ Telugu version has release issue. Film distributor Mr Vallabha has begun a spat accusing the top film producers like Suresh Babu, ‘Dil’ Raju for holding the major theaters for their own film’s release. The issue has got hold of fire with all the television debates and interviews and ‘Dil’ Raju arranged a press meet to clear the air. Although there were valid arguments on both sides, the issue remains unsolved.

Well, another issue has been holding up lately. The theaters which will be leased for the distributors have been on the low run recently. Since lack of proper films and disappointing biggies, the theatres are lacking in funds to make a run. Since there is a cut down on parking by Telangana Government, the theatre owners are in complete loss of money needed to run the theatres.

Well, the news is that the theatre owners are planning a boycott to revoke the ban on the parking and a proceeding will also take place until the demands are met. Will have to wait for the response from the leasers.

It is, however, not yet clear if the decision to ban the screening of movies is exclusive only to TFI or other South Indian film industries as well. However, an official confirmation from Tamil film Industry is expected to come soon.

However, there is a criticism that having a strike at this point when no biggies are arriving in cinemas doesn’t reflect the seriousness of the producers.

Theaters Bandh in Tollywood and Kollywood Confirmed

The Telugu film chamber of commerce has taken this decision and also requested the other south film industries to extend their support this bandh. Already Tamil Nadu Madigar’s Sangam extended their support for the same and reveal their friendly gesture.

The digital service providers are charging 20 thousand rupees for the digital production which is actually high and also creating a huge loss for producers and theatre management. The producers have requested providers to decrease the fee, but they are not giving attention to this demand.

As a result, having left with no other option except to go on a strike, the producers have finally taken this decision. The discussions are going on, but still, we have to wait few more days for the final decision.
