Bollywood diva Kiara Advani greeted the Telugu audience with ‘MS Dhoni’ movie and recently marked her Tollywood debut with Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Bharath Ane Nenu’ under the direction of Koratala Siva.

After the web series, ‘Lust Stories’, Kiara Advani has become one of the hottest celebs in the industry. Now, an interesting snippet about the actress is claiming that Kiara Advani is in a relationship with Bollywood actor Siddharth Malhotra. The duo has been denying the rumours and are trying to keep their affair under the wraps. But, it seems like Bollywood star filmmaker Karan Johar decided to help these lovebirds out. If the buzz is to be believed, then Kiara and her rumoured boyfriend Sid are hanging out at Karan Johar’s residence. Even, Alia Bhatt who used to date Siddharth before Jacqueline Fernandez revealed that Sid might want to date Kiara in Koffee with Karan show.

On the work front, Kiara Advani is playing the female lead in Ram Charan’s ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ and Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ starring Shahid Kapoor under the direction of Sandeep Reddy. Rumours are rife that they will tie the knot soon.

Another interesting biopic is being made in the Bollywood film industry right now. Vikram Batra, the army officer who breathed his last during the Kargil war is an inspiration for many. His life is being made as a movie on Bollywood celluloid. He is being called as Sher Shah by Pakistan army. The Indian government also recognized him by giving Parama Veera Chakra award. Siddharth Malhotra is going to be seen in his role and Karan Johar came forward to produce the movie.

The buzz is that Kiara Advani is confirmed to play the heroine in the movie. Kiara Advani earlier acted in Karan Johar’s direction for the film Lust Stories. She is also playing a guest role in Karan Johar’s next Kalank.

This is the first Siddharth and Kiara Advani have teamed up for the film and a new director named Vishnu Vardhan is making his debut.

Aashiqui series is a super successful project in Bollywood. After the success of the second part, there is a lot of buzz on the series about the third part. The makers took a long gap and started the preparations for the third installment in the series. The film unit wanted to recreate the success of the second part.

Going by the latest buzz in the filmnagar, we have come to know that Siddarth Malhotra is in consideration to play the lead in this third part. Apparently, the actor met Mahesh Bhatt recently to discuss the same. The makers are yet to take a decision on the same and Siddarth assured that he would be ready to act alongside a new heroine as well.

Mohit Suri is the director of the second part and it is still unsure about the director for the third part.

Except for the MS Dhoni biopic, Neeraj Pandey has always been in a patriotic zone with a very strong protagonists. Aiyaari also is in that zone with Army as the setup. That is the closest he can get while writing characters who are the saviours . Though, the disclaimers say it as fiction, MrPandey seemed to be in a mode to expose the corruption that happens when it comes to arms and defence , which we might be totally unaware of. A new storyline indeed. But does it entice the viewer?

Colonel Abhay Singh (ManojBajpayee) is made a part of undercover (dejavu?) agent team, within the army. His mentee, Major Jai Bhakshi is played by Siddhart Malhotra. Jai realizes something fishy and decides to expose the corruption that is happening with the arms trade at different levels. A sincere officer turns into a slicker in the mission that he sets to himself. He also takes the help of his newly made girlfriend, a software techie. She helps in hacking machines for some critical information. Whether Jai will be able to succeed or will his identity be leaked in between is the film about.

Well, the movie’s plot is very unclear from the beginning. You cannot comprehend, what is really driving Jai to do so. The justification and explanation he gives also sounded absurd. The screenplay initially promises that there will be lot in terms of revealing later, but it doesn’t quite turn out that way. The 140 hour long film has good amount of twists , but none that can really give you a kick. The movie also has a lot of slow motion shots, which make the already bland treatment much blander. The ending of the film is quite unclear too. We would be waiting for a convincing answer for all that had happened in the past 2 hours, but the answers are absurd.

ManojBajpayee proves that, irrespective of the script, he can shine anytime and anywhere. He was the best part of the film. There are also other good actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra, Adil Hussain and the likes, but they get half bakes roles which they could have agreed only because of the director’s popularity. Siddhart Malhotra has the looks and was OK. Rakul was average and Pooja Chopra was good. Neeraj’s favorite Anupam Kher makes a brief appearance too.

The soundtrack of the film is pretty good. Cinematography is good capturing some beautiful landscapes. Editing could have been better to shorten the thriller.

The fundamental problemis its execution of a script which might seemingly look good on the paper. Though there is so much suspense (whether it enthralls or not is a different topic), a large ensemble of capable actors, the core plot is hazy. You cant really fathom what a certain character’s intent and why he talks and behaves in a certain way. The movie just keeps going on and on, leading to a boring affair.

Aiyaary is Neeraj Pandey’s blunder.

Rakul Preet Singh who has shared the screen space with top stars of Tollywood like Megastar Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and others, currently romancing with Mahesh Babu in AR Murugadoss’s directorial venture ‘Spyder’, is making a comeback in Bollywood. She started her career with Hindi movie ‘Yaariyan’ and now she has been roped in upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Aiyaary ‘ under the direction of Neeraj Pandey in which Siddharth Malhotra is playing the lead role.

Recently Siddharth Malhotra wrapped up the Kashmir shoot schedule of Aiyaary and sources say that Rakul will join the set in Delhi in a few days where the makers will can few songs and crucial scenes. Aiyaary also stars Manoj Bajpayee where he plays an army officer, and it is the first time when Siddharth will be seen sharing screen space with Manoj Bajpayee.

“Ek Villain” has straight away challenged Salman Khan’s “Jai Ho”. The musical thriller after a brilliant second highest opening on Friday with Rs 16.72 cr nett business, showed a rock steady collection of around Rs 15 cr on Saturday taking its two day total to around 31 cr. That’s right! Ek Villain Collections touch the 50 Cr mark in the opening weeked itself.

Well-known trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#EkVillain had a SOLID Sat. Early trends indicate Rs 15 cr [+/-]… Rs 50 cr nett weekend on the cards… FANTABULOUS!”

Jai Ho, which is the biggest grosser of the year so far, garnered Rs 33.80 cr within 2 days of its release despite roping in a huge number of 4500 screens in India.

“Ek Villain” released in around 2539 screens which is a much lesser number in comparison to Salman Khan starrer. Going by this analysis, Ek Villain has clearly defeated “Jai Ho” and is going ahead for Rs 50 cr weekend.

Taran Adarsh also tweeted, “Get ready to rub your eyes in disbelief… #EkVillain [on lesser screens] to challenge #JaiHo for the BIGGEST opener of 2014.”

The flick is dominating the international box office too. Ek Villain on Friday grossed Rs 6 cr in the overseas markets.

“EkVillain Thu + Fri Overseas total: approx $ 1 mn [Rs 6 cr]. VERY GOOD!”, tweeted Taran Adarsh.

The biggest contribution was from UAE where it made Rs 3.11 cr.

“EkVillain – UAE: Thu AED 800,000, Fri AED 1,100,000. Total: AED 1,900,000 [Rs 3.11 cr]. FABULOUS!”, wrote Adarsh.

Ekta Kapoor, the producer of the film, is sure minting money with the stupendous success of “Ek Villain”.

Karan Johar’s party was the talk of the town. Bollywood celebs grabbed all the attention at the evening and they were having a good time.

However, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra apparently got into a heated argument.

According to a report by a prominent media house, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra met at Karan Johar’s party and got into an argument over a debate.

It all started with a joke, and Sidharth didn’t appreciate Varun’s comment. The report further stated that Varun also left the party post the argument between the two lads.

However, Sidharth reportedly told a media house that nothing happened between Varun and him and he has no idea about why and how such reports came out.

The trio who hit the Bollywood marquee together – Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt continue to share that cordial friendship even after the film. The three are pursuing their careers individually, and see no threat in each other as completion.

Confirming the same, Varun Dhawan stated while speaking to PTI – “I don’t consider Alia and Sid as my competitors. Nobody who started his/her career with me is my competitior. I compete with myself. I don’t even keep a tab on what Alia and Sid are doing. We watch each other’s works and congratulate each other”

Varun further revelled in the friendship that three share, saying that its quite endearing. “We are still very friendly and even before taking flight to Delhi, Sid had given me a long list of eating joints which I must try” he said. Varun is busy promoting his film Main Tera Hero in the Capital with co-star Ileana D’Cruz

After Student of The Year, Varun chose to work with his father on his next film, Main Tera Hero, taking it as an important project. The young actor expressed his admiration for his dad’s decipline on the sets, saying that he was a lion on the sets who was punctual and always expected others to be as well.

Talking about his choice to complete his father’s film first, Varun said – “After Student of the Year, I started shooting for my film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. But I left the project midway and started shooting for my dad’s film. It was not a commercial decision rather it was an emotional one. My father is old now, he is sixty plus and I feel it is my priority to work with him first than anyone else”

The Villain, an upcoming romantic action entertainer bringing together ‘Aashiqui 2 ‘ and ‘Student of the Year’ stars Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, will see some real heat. The two actors will be seen romancing in their hottest avatars. While Shraddha is her usual self, Sidharth had undergone a massive makeover for the film. Bulked up, he sports a rough look along with tattoos and stubble.

“For Villain, I had to experiment with my look. I have a slightly different hairstyle. I sport a beard as well as tattoos, and had to bulk up a little. As my character is aggressive and intense, hopefully, the audience will see me in a different light. The character has a lot of emotional baggage. You’ll see the difference between the sweet lover boy I’ve played earlier, and this aggressive man” said Sidharth.

Made with a middle class backdrop, the film shows a villainous side to everyday personalities in life. An interesting plot this, the movie will see Sidharth and Shraddha playing more intense roles this time, as compared to their earlier romantic films. The poster reminds us of Sanjay Leela Bhasali’s Ram Leela. However, the content within the movie is way different. This will also be the first time that an interesting new pair among the latest talent will be experimented with.

Directed by Mohit Suri of Aashuqui2, the movie also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Amrita Puri and Kamaal Rashid Khan in prominent roles. The film is planned for June 27th
release this year.

The talk of the B-town is the Parineeti Chopra- Siddharth Malhotra starrer Hasee Toh Phasee.  The movie got a wonderful response from the preview shows. The story and screenplay are being appreciated in particular. Debutant screenwriter Harshavardhan Kulkarni has penned them. We bring you the interview with this talented writer.

Tell us about your journey as a screenwriter. Where and when did it all begin?

I used to write and direct plays. After completing my graduation in Petro-chemical engineering, I joined Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.  I, then started a production house called TailorMade films, along with two of my friends Keerthi Nakhwa and Amitabh Shukla (a renowned editor now in the B-town).  We were mostly into Ads.

And then..

An opportunity knocked the door. I wrote the story screenplay and produced this telefilm called “Chosen One” which was directed by Vinil Mathew. It was received very well and won many awards. It was aired on Star Best Sellers too. The director, sound designer and cinematographer who worked for “Chosen One” have worked for “Hasee Toh Phasee” too. Working with them again, feels so great.

Mm..Looks like you have a long association with Vinil Mathew  

Indeed! He was my junior in FTII.  My primary interest is in direction, but I have so much confidence in Vinil’s capabilities that I am glad he is directing my script. We share a great rapport and are always on the same wavelength.  There are many fellow FTTI ians too who are doing great in the industry.

How did Hasee Toh Phasee happen?

Vinil had done some really good work in Ads. We thought its time to make a feature film.  The script of Hasee Toh Phasee got ready and Phantom came forward to pick us up.  Later Dharma Productions joined and made our launch bigger.

Phantom and Dharma are in fact two contrasting production houses. One is into raw, dark, path-breaking, experimental stuff and the latter is more into glamour and big-ticket films. So which zone does HTP fall into?
Both.  Hasee Toh Phasee has got the sensibilities of Phantom, and the entertainment factors of Dharma. And probably that’s what makes it unique.

Did you get any inputs from Anurag Kashyap (one of the four producers of Phantom)?
Yes, of course.  He is also one of the four dialogue writers for this movie.  Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikas Bahl also helped me in giving useful inputs throughout the iterations of the script.  The brainstorming sessions helped well in making a good final product.

Is there any directorial venture on your plate now?

I directed a movie called “Hunter”. It stars Gulshan Deviah as the main lead who plays a ‘tarkhi’. in the film. It’s a very interesting movie, and is now under post production. I am hoping for a release during the summer.

Great! So who are your favorite screenwriters?

I admire Salim Javed’s writing a lot. Their ouput was very impactful. Also, I like Gulzar saab. In the contemporaries, Anurag Kashyap is fabulous.  I am a great fan of his work.

Any advice you would like to give to the upcoming and young screenwriters?

I haven’t proved myself yet so I cannot give any advice to them. However, there is one advice I keep giving to myself.  Be honest while writing and do not write just for the heck of it. Let the passion come naturally and give your complete effort.

The final question. What does Hasee Toh Phasee has in store for the audience?

Rom-com is an evergreen genre, but lately rom-coms are not so rooted.  Hasee Toh Phasee is very rooted with lots of sensibility embedded in it, apart from giving the entertainment. There is a lot of freshness you will experience in the movie.  There is a good mixture of emotions that will make you laugh as well as cry.
