“Ek Villain” has straight away challenged Salman Khan’s “Jai Ho”. The musical thriller after a brilliant second highest opening on Friday with Rs 16.72 cr nett business, showed a rock steady collection of around Rs 15 cr on Saturday taking its two day total to around 31 cr. That’s right! Ek Villain Collections touch the 50 Cr mark in the opening weeked itself.
Well-known trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#EkVillain had a SOLID Sat. Early trends indicate Rs 15 cr [+/-]… Rs 50 cr nett weekend on the cards… FANTABULOUS!”
Jai Ho, which is the biggest grosser of the year so far, garnered Rs 33.80 cr within 2 days of its release despite roping in a huge number of 4500 screens in India.
“Ek Villain” released in around 2539 screens which is a much lesser number in comparison to Salman Khan starrer. Going by this analysis, Ek Villain has clearly defeated “Jai Ho” and is going ahead for Rs 50 cr weekend.
Taran Adarsh also tweeted, “Get ready to rub your eyes in disbelief… #EkVillain [on lesser screens] to challenge #JaiHo for the BIGGEST opener of 2014.”
The flick is dominating the international box office too. Ek Villain on Friday grossed Rs 6 cr in the overseas markets.

The biggest contribution was from UAE where it made Rs 3.11 cr.

Ekta Kapoor, the producer of the film, is sure minting money with the stupendous success of “Ek Villain”.
