Tollywood actor Tanish appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) of Telangana’s excise department on Monday as part of an ongoing probe into a high-end drug racket busted by it.

He is among the 12 personalities, including directors and actors from the Telugu film industry, to be summoned by the SIT in connection with the case.

The SIT sleuths yesterday grilled Srinivasa Rao, who had earlier worked as a driver with popular actor Ravi Teja. Teja was questioned for nearly nine hours on July 28.

During the investigation into the drug racket that was busted on July 2, names of many members of the Telugu film industry had cropped up, the SIT had said. Since July 19, the SIT has questioned filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, actors P Subba Raju, Tarun Kumar, P Navdeep and Ravi Teja, art director Dharma Rao alias Chinna, and actresses Charmi Kaur and Mumaith Khan.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) is on their task of interrogating the 12 Tollywood celebrities for whom notices have been served in connection with drug racket in Hyderabad. While Puri Jagannath, Shyam K Naidu, Subba Raju, Tharun are already grilled, it’s the turn of actress Charmi on 26th of this month.

Meanwhile, Charmi approached High Court today filing a writ petition demanding on only women officials should shoot questions at her at Abkari Bhavan and that too in the presence of her advocate. As per Article 20 (3), Charmi also mentioned that her blood, nail and hair samples cannot be collected forcibly without her consent.

This petition automatically raises a question on how friendly is the whole interrogation process conducted inside, whether is it really friendly or are Police using any forcible measures to bring the truth out? Charmi happens to be the first among 12 celebs to file the petition against SIT. Let us see, how court reacts.

Subba Raju is one of the most popular character artists in Tollywood film industry who has been doing well in the industry since a long time. The actor was now in a controversy related to the Drugs. Very recently, his name was included in the list of celebrities who was served with the notices. Meanwhile, the actor attended the questioning session today at Nampally. SIT officers already questioned Puri Jagannadh and Shyam K Naidu. They questioned Subba Raju now.

Subba Raju was asked about his involvement in the drugs case and was also asked about consumption of the same. He was also asked to reveal the names of the celebrities who have the habit of taking drugs. Subba Raju is said to be co-operating with the officers by providing the required information.
