Bollywood khiladi Akshay Kumar has reportedly donated a huge sum of Rs 50 lakh for the severe drought hit Maharashtra.

It is known that Maharashtra is facing the worst possible drought. Farmers are committing suicides due to lack of water. Sadly, people are looking for help to get even drinking water.

Maharashtra government has started Jalyuktashivarabhiyan programme to conserve rain water. As soon as Akshay got to know of this state initiated programme, he came forward voluntarily to donate Rs 50 lakh towards the scheme. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis thanked Akshay for his timely help.

Akshay Kumar has once again proved that he has a heart of gold. It may be noted that he had earlier donated a sum of Rs 90 lakh for the families of the farmers who had committed suicide due to drought.
