Long time ago, senior actress Revathi shared an experience of a minor girl during the shooting of a film. After her narration of the incident, many people had criticized her silence for hiding the details all these years.

A person named Siaj Jamas filed a police complaint on Revathy that she has hidden the name of the actress who was physically assaulted that night. He added that the Police should investigate more and find out about that actress. Revathi clarified that the incident she mentioned happened 25 or 26 years back and not in recent years. The ‘Ratri‘ actress made it clear that the girl, who sought her help that night was not sexually or physically assaulted. She stated that a 17-year-old girl had knocked at her doors, pleading to save her during the shooting of a movie. “On that night, at around 11.30 pm, a 17-year-old girl, whose identity I do not want to disclose, came running to my room and knocked on my door,” said Revathy and stated that she opened the door and allowed her in.

That night she and her grandmother and the minor stayed in the room locking the door. “No sexual or physical assault actually happened.” Clarified that actress and added that the incident always troubled her all these years.

While there is a lot of buzz in the social media regarding the film Brahmotsavam, here is an interesting insight on to the sets of the film. The movie unit is busy with the final stages of the shoot, and almost all the talented actors are taking part in the shooting. Interestingly the pair, Satya Raj, and Revathi are playing the parents for Mahesh Babu in the film.

The most beautiful sight that was caught on the sets of Brahmotsavam is Mahesh’s little princess Sitara Ghattamaneni roaming around and interacting with the lead actors of the film. One such candid moment has been captured by Namrata Mahesh, which was later posted on Instagram.

Here, Sitara is seen interacting in a joyful mood with actress Revathi. This is not the first time that Sitara has been to the sets of Brahmotsavam, but she is a regular visitor to Mahesh’s films. She was even gone abroad during the shoot of Aagadu. In the olden days, Krishna used to take his children to the sets and that’s how Mahesh got interest in acting and was introduced as a child actor. Now, it is the turn of Mahesh to make his children pay a visit to the sets and let us hope some day we might see Sitara as a child artist.

Varun Tej starrer ‘Loafer’ is directed by Puri Jagannadh. C.Kalyan is the presenting this film and making this film under the banner of C.K Entertainments.

Under the banner of Subha Swetha Films C.V.Rao, Sweet Alana, Teja and Varun are producing this film. Disha Patani is the lead heroine. ‘Loafer’ first look was revealed by Puri Jagannadh on Sunday.

A press meet was arranged in which C.Kalyan spoke saying ‘The shooting part of the film is completed. The first look is getting a positive response from all over. Varun Tej along with Disha looks fabulous in the first look.

This is Varun Tej’s first mass film. Entertainment, mother sentiment along with action sequences is what ‘Loafer’ is made of. Hero’s characterisation will be the highlight if the film. Currently, the post-production work of the film is finding its way. We will soon release the audio and will announce the release date.”

Brahmanandam, Posani, Revathi, Krishna Murali, Mukesh Rushi, Sampoornesh Babu, Saptagiri, Uttej, Dhanraj are the few important characters in the film. Sunil Kashyap is the music director for this film.

Hot actress Samantha, who will soon start shooting for Mahesh Babu’s ‘Brahmotsavam’, has made an interesting revelation. She said that during the initial days, filmmakers gave her the DVDs of senior actress Revathi’s flicks and instructed to learn acting skills from her.

Samantha added that she learned a lot from Revathi, who acted in glamorous as well as performance oriented characters then. Samantha, who kept this secret for so long, revealed now as she is set to share screen space with the senior actress in ‘Brahmotsavam’, directed by Srikanth Addala.

Also starring Kajal and Pranitha, the high budget flick is produced by PVP.

Apart from Brahmotshavam, she is also busy with her another project “A..Aa..” in which Nithin is playing the male lead and directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

The Kerala kutty is quite popular for her stunning performances in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu for three decades now. She tried her hand in direction too with Mitr, My Friend which starred Shobana as the leading lady.  It was a story of an Indian woman unable to adjust to the contrasting culture of America, and finds an amigo in an internet chatroom. Revathi’s second venture was Phir Milenge, which dealt with HIV. Revathi put forward a story which showed the myths, mistakes and hypocrisy of the people reacting to people with HIV.

 

Meghna Gulzar

Beti Gulzar debuted with the Tabu and Sushmita Sen starrer Filhaal.  The movie’s plot involved surrogacy, which was way ahead of the times in Hindi Cinema.  Meghna could show the bonding between two best buddies as well the differences that crop up between them when one of them becomes the surrogate mother. Meghna’s brave attempt was well appreciated but her other films that followed damaged all the good name she gained through Filhaal.

 

Deepa Mehta

This Indo-Canadian filmmaker is famous for her elements Trilogy – Fire, Earth and Water.  Fire especially became popular for showing homosexuality first time in mainstream Hindi film.  Earth dealt with pre-independence riots, and Water showed the plight of widows in the 1940s.

Reema Katgi

She belongs to the Akthar camp and assisted Farhan and Zoya in their films. Her debut was Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd which was a light-hearted but enlightening story of 6 couples who are on a honeymoon trip to Goa. Her second film Talaash was an emotional thriller starring the perfectionist Aamir Khan. The talented writer-director has a style of her own, with class and substance.

 

Gauri Shinde

Only a film old, but she has attained a status of one of the finest female directors of the country. Mrs. Balki ‘s debut English Vinglish was unanimously loved by the nation. Sridevi couldn’t have wished for a better comeback to Bollywood.  Interestingly, the movie was based on Gauri’s relationship with her mother. This woman swept all the major Bollywood awards last year in the Best Debut director category.

 

Zoya Akthar

After nearly ten years of Farhan Akthar’s Dil Chahta Hai, there came someone who could reach the excellence of showing the male-bonding so well. It was Farhan’s sister Zoya who made the amazing flick Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara . Everyone was taken by surprise, how flawlessly she could transform bromance so well to the silver screen. Probably, talent flows through the veins of the Akthars .

 

Farah Khan

One fine day, the Bollywood numeruno choreographer thought of changing her regular instruction of “1-2-1, 1-2-1..” to “ACTION…CUT” . That marked the beginning of the first woman Bolywood director who unabashedly made an out-an-out commercial masala Hindi cinema – Main Hoo Na, which also restarted the ‘Advanced booking’ concept at the theatres.  Her next film Om Shanti Om became another money-spinner. She is currently shooting Happy New Year with her lucky charm Shah Rukh Khan.

 

Sai Paranjpye

Probably the most multifaceted female director, Indian cinema has produced.  She can make a sensitive film like Sparsh and win awards. She can easily translate rabbit-and-tortoise story into a Farooq Sheikh-Naseeruddin Shah starrer ‘Katha’. She can also make light-hearted cult comedies like Chashme Baddoor.  She can make some great documentaries for children too.  The 75-yr old lady is an iconic film-maker who proved very long ago that a movie’s genre has nothing to do with the maker’s gender!
