Energetic hero Ram Pothineni tasted success with his recent outing ‘iSmart Shankar’. Touted to be a mass commercial entertainer, Puri Jagannath helmed this project.
Others are saying that Ram has been sporting the bald look because of the character in his upcoming movie directed by Kishore Tirumala. But the official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.
Even after the two weeks of its release, iSmart Shankar is still continuing its dream run at the box office. The team is enjoying the success daily by attending the interviews on going for success-tours. One man who was missed all these days in these celebrations was hero Ram himself.
Ram went on a pre-planned vacation a few days before the release of iSmart Shankar. That is the reason why he was not able to be a part of these celebrations until now. Finally, Ram is back home and as soon as he reached Hyderbad, he left to Puri’s cave and celebrated the success with the team.
One of the film’s producers, Charmme tweeted, “Ustaaaad @ramsayz brings energy in #iSmartShankar celebrations. Feeling the real ISMART BLOCKBUSTER feel now.” Director Puri Jagannath, heroine Nidhi Agerwal, Bhakarabhatla, Uttej and a few others were present at this party.
Young hero Ram Pothineni scored a massive hit with his new movie iSmart Shankar. A couple of days before the release itself, Ram left for a vacation and was unavailable for the promotions. The film released and became a huge blockbuster. The heroines, director Puri, and the other cast are celebrating the success but Ram’s presence is badly missing. The fans are also feeling the same. Outsmarting all the pre-release expectations, film iSmart Shankar has emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. Within four days of its release, the movie collected a gross of over Rs. 45 crores and has become the biggest hit in-hero Ram’s career. Even director Puri Jagannath made a smashing comeback, after a series of flops.
Meanwhile, the team is throwing success parties and also going on success tours to promote the film further. But hero Ram is nowhere seen in these parties or tours. If you are wondering about the reason behind his absence, the iSmart actor is chilling on a vacation currently.

iSmart Shankar (Ram) is a bad guy who is well famed in the rowdyism. He goes on to kill an ex-minister with the contract given by Kaka, his mentor-like figure. After killing him, he disappears to Goa on vacation with his girlfriend Chandini (Nabha Natesh). She gets killed in the vacation and Shankar gets arrested. He escapes from prison after a year and decides to avenge the death of Chandini. He gets to meet Arun, a CBI officer in this journey and their lives get mixed up. How Arun comes into his life? Who killed Chandini? How Shankar avenged the death of Chandini?
Ram Pothineni has done a terrific job in the role of iSmart Shankar. His energy, effort, and body language worked out very well for the role and this pleases the audience to a greater extent. Nabha Natesh is good in her limited role but the body language seems odd for her maybe because of the styling. Nidhi Aggarwal is nice as Sarah. She looks gorgeous in the songs. Ashish Vidyarthi has done a good job. Shayaji Shinde is good. Getup Seenu is fine. Satya plays a crucial role which works well. All other actors have done a good job in their roles.
The story of iSmart Shankar is good and the screenplay is written in a way to entertain the commercial audience. The dialogues are good.
Manisharma has teamed up with Puri Jagannadh after CMGR and has composed good songs for this film. The background score he composed works for the film very well. The cinematography by Raj Thota is okay. The consistency in the color palette is missing. The editing of the film is fine. The action sequences and stunts are composed well. The production values are grand.
Pure commercial stuff
iSmart Shankar is a story of a bad guy and a good guy with the same target. This film is a do or die film for Puri Jagannadh and with Ram as a hero, he made a solid commercial potboiler with an eccentric characterization. The characterization of Ram worked very well and got a huge reaction from the audience in the theatre. The first half of the film sets the premise and the second half reveals the missing links of the first half. This film is a pure One man show from Ram. Puri Jagannadh wrote pure commercial stuff for this film which may act as a minus for family audience. To sum up, iSmart Shankar is a relief for Puri Jagannadh from his lean phase of flop films and a watchable entertainer.
Hero Ram and director Puri Jagannath are happy that their film iSmart Shankar is finally in the theatres. This is the first film in the combination of both Ram and Puri. Until a few days back, there was a minimal buzz on the film but everything changed in the last 4-5days.

Energetic Star Ram and director Puri Jagannath have teamed up for the first time for the film Ismart Shankar. The film was launched earlier this year and was shot extensively in Hyderabad, Goa, and the Maldives. Finally, the team has successfully wrapped up the entire shoot yesterday.
Currently, the post-production works are going on at a rapid pace. Already, it was officially announced that the film will hit the screens on the 18th of July. Meanwhile, Puri and co. are planning to promote the film extensively to get maximum openings at the box office at the time of the release.
Already, three songs from the film were released and are getting a decent response from the audience. Nidhi Aggarwal and Nabha Natesh are the heroines of the film. It is being produced by Puri Jagannath and Charmme. Manisharma has composed the music for it.
Actor Ram and director Kishore Tirumala are good friends and they have done two films together, which are Nenu Shailaja and Vunnadi Okate Zindagi. The duo is now all set to work their third film together and score a hit yet again. This time, they have chosen a Tamil film to remake.
According to the sources, they are planning to remake recent Tamil film Thadam in Telugu. Thadam had Arun Vijay as the lead and it was praised as one of the best thrillers in recent times. Apparently, Kishore is making some changes to the script now to suit the sensibilities of Telugu audiences.
