Kalyani Priyadarshan, the daughter of popular director Priyadarshan and actress Lissy, is all set to enter acting very soon through Tollywood. The yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by Vikram Kumar and she will be seen opposite Nagarjuna’s younger son Akhil Akkineni in the lead role.

Kalyani has been in the news recently after rumors regarding her relationship with Pranav Mohanlal. However, to clear the air, in an interview with a popular daily, she finally reacted to all the speculations.

Dismissing all rumours, Kalyani stated that Pranav is like an elder brother to her. She also said that they had a good laugh over the so called affair rumours as both families knew that they were baseless.

Pranav had earlier posted a picture with Kalyani on his Instagram page, immediately after which the rumours surfaced. In the same interview, she said that “Pranav is a person who has nothing to hide and has no secrets. He is an extremely simple person, who can live under any circumstances.”

“He is a person who feels complete in a t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and chappals. He is a role model for all the kids in their family circle,” she added. Pranav will make his debut in the upcoming Jeethu Joseph movie Aadhi. The project was announced at a grand event, which was held at Mohanlal’s hometown Thiruvananthapuram.

The first look poster of Mohanlal starrer upcoming crime thriller film ‘Oppam’ has been released and it looks highly promising.

The film brings back the acclaimed combination of Mohanlal and director Priyadarshan. Mohanlal, often called the complete actor by critics, is playing the character of a blind person in the movie. However, his shadow is of a murderer holding a knife.

The poster also has tagline suggesting that someone is with you all the time following like a shadow. The interesting first look poster is now going viral on social media sites.

Oppam is a critical film for both Mohanlal and Priyadarshan, as both of them have not had a hit in a long time. Mohanlal hasn’t tasted a box office success post the groundbreaking success of Drishyam.

Vimala Raman is the leading lady of the movie.

Recently, rumors surfaced that veteran director Priyadarshan was about to retire from the film industry due to the lack of success that has been haunting him lately but they turned out to be not true. In fact, Priyadarshan has given quite a reply to those allegations – yes, reports indicate that he is planning to make two movies, one starring Fahad Fazil and the other starring Surya!

Of course, the Fahad one is a Malayalam project while the Kollywood venture will star Surya.

Priyadarshan has had quite a rollercoaster of a track record with some iconic films and some unexpected flops that disappointed the fans, but now he seems ready to get back in the game, so to speak, by choosing ‘unique’ stars for each project.

His choice in Tamil is the talented and versatile Surya who can pull of characters with substance as well as rock a masala flick in his trademark style. This raises questions as to what kind of movie the legendary director has in mind, considering his last venture in Tamil was Kanchivaram (2008) which won the Best Film and got the lead actor Prakash Raj the Best Actor title at the 55th National Film Awards.

Is Priyadarshan looking to repeat history with a moving drama or is he going for an entertainer with mass appeal? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

In Malayalam, he has chosen Fahad Fazil, the young and sensational actor who has a proven box office value and has also just won the state award for Best Actor.

Of course, Priyadarshan and Fahad’s father, veteran director Fazil are old friends and in fact, it was Fazil who produced Priyadarshan’s hit Mohanlal starrer comedy Chandralekha.

Priyadarshan and Mohanlal duo have delivered some classics and the combination with Fahad looks intriguing with regard to the potential for brilliant and engaging cinema.
