Madhavi Latha made her acting debut with Ravi Babu’s directorial, Nacahvule in 2008. Later, she has done a handful of films but none of them have helped her to build her career. Thus, she has shifted her focus on politics and is gearing up to contest in upcoming assembly elections.

She has been offered ticket from Bharatiya Janata Party in Guntur constituency. It is indeed a risky move from BJP to offer a ticket to a newcomer like Madhavi. Earlier, another actress Reshma Rathod has contested from Wyra constituency in last year’s Telangana elections but was defeated by her opponent.

We have to see how Madhavi would perform in the upcoming elections. Currently, the actress is busy with the campaigning works. The elections will be held on April 11th and the results will be announced on May 23rd.

Kerala Independent MP Innocent Vareed Thekkethala on Wednesday created a furore after saying that casting couch doesn’t exists in the Malayalam film industry and blamed the “bad women” for any such situation.

Innocent, a Member of Parliament from in Chalakudy, Thrissur District, said “It is not true that is long gone. If anyone says anything wrong to an actress, all you journalists will get to know. There is nothing like that. However, if they are bad they might share their beds.”

He made the comments while answering questions by media persons on casting couch in the Malayalam film industry. Meanwhile, Women in Cinema Collective slammed Innocent’s statement saying the wannabe actresses face the issue of casting couch in the film industry.

Later, Innocent on his Facebook account said his comments have been misinterpreted and presented in a way that he did not intend.
