A couple of days back, the government of Telangana has set up a special committee to deal with the women harassment cases in the Telugu film industry. Many noted technicians like Nandini Reddy, Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Supriya and Jhansi have been appointed as the panel members for it.

Following its footsteps, Kollywood has also set up a similar committee. Nadigar Sangam, the body of the Tamil film industry, had started a panel to deal with the MeToo cases in the industry. It will be headed by senior actor Nasser and will also have other actors like Suhasini, Kushboo, Rohini, Karthi, Vishal and Murugan as the panel members.

MeToo movement has gained momentum in India during last year when many actresses and technicians came out and shared their sexual harassment stories. Many big names from the Tamil industry were also accused of sexual harassment, by a few female artists in the industry.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is not only popular for her impeccable acting skills but also for her outspoken nature. Sometimes, her don’t care attitude was received well by the people while sometimes it landed her in some serious controversies. But she always remained the same and never changed her approach towards things.

Recently, in an interview given to news daily, Kangana opened up about the ongoing Metoo movement. She said that every woman should be responsible for her own safety and young girls should be taught on these issues and how to handle them. She revealed that she was once pinched on her butt by a man in the middle of a group.

Kangana also stated that earlier victims used to be afraid of coming out but now with the way the things are being reported, people are thinking twice before trying to get sexually close to a woman. Kangana’s latest flick Manikarnika is slated for the release on January 25.

The entire film industry in India has now opened up about the sexual predators in the work-space. A lot of heroines have already opened up on the issue and the other heroines are extending their support to the survivors. Aditi Rao Hydari is one of the heroines who came forward to extend her support.

Meanwhile, she has posted another interesting tweet yesterday which is creating a sensation in the film industry now. Taking twitter by a surprise, Aditi tweeted, “Slow clap for the dizzying heights of hypocrisy… People who are clearly guilty of major harassment giving gyaan on the #MeTooIndia movement”.

This tweet is opening to a lot of speculations as many rumoured that she is indirectly targeting a star hero. With a lot of heroes opening upon the MeToo movement, it is unsure about whom does Aditi was referring to.

Samantha is one of the top heroines in the Telugu film industry. She is currently awaiting the release of her new film Super Deluxe. Meanwhile, the actress extended her support to all those who are opening up about the sexual harassment they faced. The MeToo movement is slowly picking up on the social media and working women from all the walks of life have opened on this.
