After scoring back to back hits with Simmba and Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh is now shooting for his next film ’83. Directed by Kabir Khan, this movie is based on the victorious journey of Indian Cricket Team in the 1983 World Cup. Ranveer is essaying the role of Kapil Dev in the film.

Recently, the shoot of the film has been kickstarted in London. According to the latest grapevine, the climax sequence of the film will be shot in iconic cricket ground, Lord’s Cricket Stadium, which is also known as the Mecca of Cricket. Currently, Lord’s is hosting a few World Cup matches.

The shoot of this climax sequence will happen once the World Cup gets concluded. ’83 also features Saqib Saleem, Jiiva, Sahil Khattar among others in pivotal roles. Deepika Padukone will be essaying a cameo role in it.

Legendary cricketer, Kapil Dev’s life is being brought on the screen in the form of a biopic. Popular filmmaker Kabir Khan is going to direct the project. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Kapil Dev’s role will be played by Ranveer Singh and he started the homework long back.

Already, the makers are busy with the other casting related works. Tamil hero Jeeva is on board to play Krishnamachari Srikanth role in the film. Chirag Patil is playing his father Sandhip Patil’s role in the movie. Meanwhile, there is a buzz regarding Ravi Shastri’s role in the film now.

If the buzz is believed to be true, Dhairya Kharwa is going to be seen in an important role of the film by playing Ravi Shasthri’s character. Dhairya was earlier seen in the film Uri The Surgical Strike.

The film is a joint production of Reliance Entertainments and Vibri Media. The film is releasing on 10th April 2020.
