After the hype created by the flick’s teaser, the expectations were gone to sky high. This has made the makers to sell their movie to high prices for distribution. Unfortunately, the movie opened with mixed responses from the critics. The movie was officially declared average but the producer Kalaipu S Thanu has claimed that the movie has grossed more than 300 crores. Within one month of the movie’s release, the distributors went to Thanu to cover their losses. Interestingly Madurai distributor leaked an audio clip of distributors talking on WhatsApp. It states that the movie Kabali has been successfully running on 214th day with 40+ tickets. This clip is evident that the movie has become hit.

Rajinikanth starrer Kabali is a mafia genre film based on a true personality called Kabaliswaran, who once lived in Madras and ruled the mafia.

Sources revealed that director Pa Ranjith has planned a lengthy schedule in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, in which almost 50 percent of the shoot will be covered.
