Kollywood film maker Shankar is set to release his venture “I” in Tollywood. As per the reports, Telugu distribution rights of this flick have been bagged by NV Prasad for 30 Crores. From the past few days, negotiations are in progress in this aspect and film makers in Tollywood felt it tough to manage 30 Crores.

It seems that the top distributors came up to 20 -25 Crores in Tollywood as majority of the Kollywood ventures doesn’t have greater than 30 Crores collection range in Tollywood. Shankar’s “Robo” got around 27 Crores at that time as Telugu rights and this hefty price is because of Rajinikanth. It seems that Shankar fixed 30 Crores at any cost to the Telugu rights.

Interestingly, NV Prasad came forward to invest the quoted price of the Telugu rights. It is really a challenge for this distributor and if he achieves success, it may turn into a trend to buy Kollywood films for more than 30 Crores.

And hitmaker Sankar’s upcoming mega flick ‘I’ picks up more buzz with the rumours flying around that Arnold Schwarzengger might be at the movie’s audio launch in Canada and may be even be the chief guest!

Yes, that’s right – it’s long been reported that Sankar has been trying to rope in some big names from Hollywood to the international audio launch of his movie to take place in Canada and the ‘Terminator’ and former Governor of California himself has been at the top of the list.

There are even rumours flying around that Arnold is even in the movie doing a cameo whereby he grants Vikram an award of some sort. A movie poster which came out a while ago online has Chiyaan Vikram in what might be called an android get up closely resembling that of the hit Hollywood franchise character – the terminator, which was played by Arnold. So the coincidences surrounding the movie and its promotion, seems to be building up intriguingly…

Sankar is known for his ambitious ideas and their brilliant execution, with the most talented crew and big names. ‘I’ has Vikram in the starring role with Amy Jackson and Upen Patel forming the rest of the known cast. The filming of the last song had wrapped up recently.

The last Sankar- Vikram project had been Anniyan which became a huge blockbuster and made Vikram a household name in the south.

Now, with names like that of Schwarzenegger being thrown in to the mix, and -not to forget – music from the masterful A R Rahman, this movie starting to take shape as perhaps one of the most awaited ones to come out in the recent future. It is being produced by Aascaar Ravichandran and cinematography is being handled by P C Sreeram.

Shankar’s next big venture ‘I’ starring Vikram, Upen Patel and Amy Jackson will have an audio launch event in Canada. And not just that, the ambitious director is planning to rope in Hollywood celebs to the event – including maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger!

Yes, Shankar dreams big and usually executes them as well. This plan comes as no surprise to Kollywood, as his last epic movie Endhiran starring Rajnikanth was launched in Malaysia first.

The crew are in the process of planning the shoot of the last song in the movie starring Upen and Amy which will most likely commence on April 15th.

This action thriller is being produced by Aascar Ravichandran under the banner of his company Aascar Films and will probably come out in June.

Given the hugely popular track record of the Shankar – Vikram combo , the 2005 mega hit Anniyan which got successful dubbed releases in multiple industries, the prospects look good for this upcoming big budget flick as well.
