Humshakals Success Party was held at a plush restaurant in Mumbai. The team of “Humshakals” were seen celebrating the success of their film.

The movie which was badly criticized, has fared well at the box office.

Sajid Khan was seen smiling and posing for the paparazzi. Apparently, Sajid is even planning a sequel to the movie. God save India!

Esha Gupta, the ‘Jannat’ girl, sizzled in the red one-piece. She completed the look with a dash of bright lip colour and two colour straped shoes. She was loving it all as she finally became a part of a very successful film.

Ritiesh Deshmukh was seen in a traditional avatar by donning a green kurta. Blue jeans and red sneakers completed off his look. The actor was complimented for his comic timing by the critics even though they ripped apart the movie for its mindless plot.

Producer Vashu Bhagnani went was all smiles at the event. He went ahead to comment, “We can’t say anything to the critics ever. We would go ahead with a second Humshakals Success Party once we cross the 100 crore mark.”

The most surprising part of the event was that Saif Ali Khan and Tamannah Bhatia were not present at the event. They probably wanted to distance themselves from the movie as it fared very badly at the critical front.

Talk of Indian audiences developing a taste for mindless cinema! Well, Humshakals Collections are increasing by the hour.

“A two-and-a-half-hour show reel of plotless, witless, joyless offensiveness”, director Sajid Khan’s “Humshakals” has collected over Rs. 40 crore in three days.

The total collection of the movie is currently at Rs. 40 crore in just three days.

Writer Milap Zaveri, whose adult comedy “Grand Masti” was panned by critics last year, is also happy with the film’s performance.

Milap took to Twitter to explain his happiness, “#Humshakals is super steady on Saturday! No drop Despite the unprecedented negativity against it! Brilliant! Audiences chose to go for it!”

“Humshakals” stars Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Tammannaah Bhatia, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu. The movie is made at a cost of INR 75 Crores.

The Fox Star Studios and Vashu Bhagnani’s co-production has already sold its satellite and music rights for Rs.45 crore. This in addition to the Humshakals Collections of 40 Crore.

Well, the country desperately needs a break from such mindless cinema. Sigh!

Okay, so this is just fresh off the rumour mills and sources are reporting that following the disastrous reception of her Hindi movie Humshakals, the milky babe Tamanna Bhatia may be on the verge of cutting down her remuneration for upcoming movies!

Yes indeed, the fates haven’t been kind to the starlet as Humshakals has sunk in to an ocean of criticism and harsh jokes, instead of being the flagship of her future career in Bollywood the way she hoped.

In fact, many critics have completely ignored her performance in the flick, and the fans just thought of her as eye candy, according to the general conversations in the social media.

Now the Veeram actress has her hopes pinned to her next Bollywood movie – It’s Entertainment starring Akshay Kumar, but reports indicate she has decided to concentrate on the south once again after that one comes out.

Tamanna had begun her career in Bollywood with Himmatwala but it was the southern industries, mainly Tamil and Telugu, which gave her start status. She began with a paycheque of just lacs and was already nearing the prestigious one crore club by last year.

Interestingly, there was also a period in between when the producers were signing her just because she was thought of a good luck charm with her track record of consistent hits!

The decision to solely focus on her Bollywood career after her success in the south is what seems to have thrown off the career trajectory of this gorgeous diva and now it remains to be seen how she will change her game plan.

Tamanna’s second Bollywood film, “Humshakals“, released today among wide spread criticism from the audiences and critics.

The response came as a shock to both – Tamanna and the makers of the film who were hoping for the film to turn out to be a blockbuster.

Tamanna who spent the last couple of months promoting the film “Humshakals”, is reportedly shattered and is finding it difficult to come to terms with the failure of the movie.

A source close to the actress says, “Tamanna broke down on seeing the reaction of the audiences. She was really banking on this film to develop her Bollywood career further. Now she’s confined herself to the walls of the room and is crying her heart out. We now hope her next movie Its entertainment does well.”

Tamanna is currently shooting for “Aagadu” opposite Mahesh Babu. The film is being directed by Sreenu Vaitla and will release soon.

Meanwhile, Tamanna’s next Bollywood outing will be “It’s Entertainment” opposite Akshay Kumar.

Sajid Khan clearly doesn’t believe in logic which he accepts unabashedly. In “Humshakals”, he ups his game three-fold. But is it worth the wait? Plot :

“Humshakals” is the story of the confusion and mayhem that takes place when three individuals have a lookalike of a lookalike, all with the same name.

In short, it’s the story of three individuals having triple roles. Confusing is it? Watch the movie to know the entire story..

An old billionaire is in coma, his only son Ashok (Saif Ali Khan) is a stand-up comedian . Ashok’s heinous uncle ‘KANS’ mama, read Kunwar Amar Nath Singh (Ram Kapoor), wants to usurp the entire property. He plots to send Ashok and his friend Kumar (Riteish Deshmukh) in a mental asylum.

In the asylum, we meet Ashok and Kumar’s lookalikes. Also present there is the uncle’s lookalike who is a dreaded criminal. And after few minutes, three more lookalikes appear on the screen. How and why? Don’t ask.

In between, we meet a sexy secretary, a pretty show anchor, a hot lady doctor, a mad mental asylum warden and a smuggler with two dwarfs as his bodyguards.

That’s it for the story? Well, yeah.. That’s all that I could find in the movie!

Performances :

The lead roles are played by Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor. All fo them are cast in triple roles ! (The makers probably knew that one of them wouldn’t suffice)

Saif Ali Khan plays the role of Ashok who is a stand-up comedian (a very bad one at that). He is sent to an asylum where he meets another Ashok (played by Saif again). To cut it all short, Saif disappoints with his weird antics and below par acting. His work has hit rock bottom and it would certainly take something like a ‘Langda Tyagi’ to bring him back.

Riteish Deshmukh plays Kumar who is Ashok’s best friend. He accompanies Ashok to the asylum and there begins his share of mimicry. He mimics the yesteryear actors perfectly and is a delight to watch. His other two looalikes (played by Riteish again) do not disappoint either. With such a narrow scope for performance, Riteish delivers a masterpiece!

Ram Kapoor plays his part as expected. He’s the next best actor in the movie (yeah, in a movie which doesn’t have anything in it to ‘perform’).

The women in the film – Bipasha, Tamanna and Esha have nothing to do. Needless to say, Bipasha made a smart move by not promoting this one.

Coming to Sajid Khan, the director of the film, well, one thing that I have understood from my past experience of Sajid Khan films is that you must not go for his movies looking out for a story or logic.
Idiocy is a gentle term for what is unleashed upon us.

Without a doubt, he disappoints(not that we expected much of him). Sajid Khan has yet again proved all that he knows about film making is – take a bunch of actors to London, try to spin an illogical story, push slapstick comedy several notches below by cracking jokes on disabled, homosexuals and foreigners and have a climax that will make you bang your head against the wall.

Nothing great on the camera work part or cinematography. It’s all too below-par!

The music of the film though deserves a special mention. That so because it spares us the horror of continuous mindless-ly stupid film in front of us. And there’s a Himesh song as well. Hmmm.. All you Himesss fans.. Roar!!

The film is a technical disaster!

Hawk-Eye Analysis :

You can call “Humshakals” a two-and-a-half hour showreel of plot-less, witless, joyless offensiveness.

There are some scenes in London and Mauritius, but the film is shot mostly within a ‘paagalkhana’.

Mostly the film is stuffed with Saif (at his worst) and Riteish (the only saving grace of this one) behaving weirdly,making faces, sticking their tongues out.

What is a surprise,of course, is Satish Shah as the Mental Asylum Warden who worships Gaddafi and Hitler. Aargh! His character has its moments but due to too much focus on the ‘triple role’ thing, he is side lined.

When you see Ram Kapoor use a Lollipop as a pacifier, you know the movie is heading nowehere. Where am I going with this, did you say? Relax, this is not a spoiler, it’s just a little detail in this jaw-droppingly, excruciatingly awful plot.

When the director is not taxing our brains with his story, he is taking pot-shots at his favourite targets. The seriously ill, the disabled, the mentally challenged, the gay people, the black people, the short people, are all on his radar.

Silliness can be great fun. Brainless doesn’t have to translate to brain-dead, when it is done with smarts. “Humshakals” has zero. Even in his really terrible moments, Sajid has managed to come up with one LOL moment. Or two. But here, there are none. Sigh!

Oh wait! There is one good joke in the movie. It’s when Sajid subjects the characters to watch his own version of “Himmatwala”. His victims go cross-eyed and shout ‘nahiiin’!

Otherwise, the movie is a pain.. in all the wrong places!

Lastly, if “Himmatwala” couldn’t break your limit of endurance, “Humshakals” definitely would.

Sajid Khan’s “Humshakals” releases this Friday. This time, Sajid is keeping a rather low profile when it comes to bragging about his film. The reason being, “Himmatwala”s debacle,same time last year. He seems quiet, perhaps wanting the film to do the talking.

There is no Ajay Devgan this time. There is also no Akshay Kumar, who seems to have been the director’s favourite. Instead, there is Saif Ali Khan, along with Riteish Deshmukh (another favourite of Sajid) and Ram Kapoor.

The analysis goes as follows!

Sajid has been known for making urban-style comedy films over the years. That is what has worked for him, with evidence being the success of “Hey Baby”, “Housefull” and “Housefull 2”. When he tried something different (a desi action-masala film Himmatwala), he failed miserably in impressing the audience.

With “Humshakals”, Sajid is back in his comfort zone. He is back to his comedy genre that he has been successful at. However, the film is missing Akshay Kumar, who had a huge role in making those films successful as well. As a matter of fact, “Humshakals” seems like a copy of the “Housefull” series, as there are similar traits such as a lot of characters, a big house, a night song, the locales, music score etc.

The songs “Caller Tune” and “Piya Ke Bazaar” seem to have worked for the public, which can be a crucial factor in the audiences heading to the theatres to watch this one.

Humshakals Pre Release Buzz, though, is not that high. But with the presence of a star like Saif Ali Khan and hit songs to boast of, the movie may just turn out to be the next big money spinner at the box office. Saif Ali Khan’s popularity in the urban centres may result in it’s good performance in the metro cities, while the hit songs and comedy genre would bring in audience from the smaller centres.

Presence of Riteish Deshmukh who has an amazing pull when it comes to comedy films, is a crucial factor too. His last outing at the box office, “Grand Masti” went on to gross over 100 crores at the box office. Riteish Deshmukh has said that “Humshakals” is the funniest film he has done. However, it all depends on what the audience thinks.

Ram Kapoor’s popularity due to his TV show “Bade Acche Lagte Hain” may result in the pull of middle-class audiences.

Bipasha Basu, Tamanna Bhatia and Esha Gupta are providing the much-needed glamour in the movie. And by the looks of it, they don’t seem to have much to do in the film.

Bipasha’s latest controversy about giving the promotions of the film a total miss and subsequently tweeting about it, may just end up working for the movie, drawing more audiences to the theatres.

All things considered though, “Humshakals” should have a solid opening day, even though the pre-release buzz is not as much as the pre-release buzz for Akshay Kumar’s “Holiday”.

The film may sustain only if the audiences end up loving the film, the way they did, Sajid’s earlier films. “Word of the mouth” will be the most important aspect that will decide the film’s fate at the box office.

The film does face competition a week later from the much-awaited film “Ek Villain”. The good thing for the team of “Humshakals” though is that both films belong to different genres which could ensure that each film gets it’s own audience.

Chitramala feels that “Humshakals” will be a hit, though not as big a hit as the “Housefull” series !

Bipasha Basu,who gave “Humshakals” promotions a total miss, broke her silence and said she was not satisfied with the end result and hence has decided to stay away from the movie.

Earlier, during promotions of “Humshakals” in New Delhi, when asked about Bipasha’s Latest Controversy, Sajid Khan told reporters that Bipasha’s absence from the film’s promotions were ‘best known to her’.

Bipasha took to Twitter recently to clarify her stand.

“This is to put an end to all the discussions around my absence for Humshakals promotions. I take full responsibility of getting into a film only on the basis of trust. But after dubbing for my character in the film, as I had professionally committed to do so I’m extremely disturbed by the end result of the film.

In these circumstances I didn’t know how to promote a film with all honesty and that’s why I thought it was better to stay away. I am confident that the film will be true to its genre and will be a full entertainer because of the people involved. I wish fox star studios who I have had my biggest hit with Raaz 3 and Vashu ji who is a fantastic producer all the best. Wish all my co stars Saif, Riteish, Tamannah, Esha and the technicians best of luck. Sometimes, certain journeys cannot be completed and this is one of them – no one to be blamed, combination of things that made me disrupt my journey.”

Reportedly, Bips felt sidelined opposite her juniors Tamannaah and Esha Gupta. In addition to that, the actress not only charged a higher remuneration than Esha and Tammanah but a meatier role as well.

Yes that’s what she thinks, and before you ask, by ‘they’ she means the unknown entities who are trying to spread baseless rumors about her! Though she hasn’t completely changed her image or ‘brand’ completely like Ileana D’ cruz, who changed her tunes on liplocks and wearing two piece bikinis on screen, the actress does seem to be aiming for the sensual and steamy factor with more glamorous choices.

Is her resolve to not compromise her principles by using sex appeal as a primary marketing ploy holding her back? That’s a question best left for the audiences to answer – her latest photoshoot, which featured her, quite tastefully and fashionably in a bikini top attire, did not get much of a positive response.

However, the quick succession of rumors which have her dating Bollywood director Sajid Khan and also the claims that she has problems getting along with Humshakals co star Bipasha Basu on the sets, are the ones that have the actress convinced of motivated entities.

Filmmaker Sajid Khan shot for a new song-n-dance number in his upcoming film ‘Humshakals’ for a whopping Rs. 2 Crore!

This makes the song not just the biggest ever number for Sajid but also Bollywood in general, what with Fox and Vashu Bhagnani going all out to make the film special.

“It was an open budget for the song, it’s as simple as that,” informs our source attached to the film.

“The song “‘Piya Ka Bazaar’ appears in the film’s climax and it is special since it features the entire cast of the film. The song has an out and out Indian set up to it and is set in a celebratory mode. The song is sure to impress one and all.” added the source

Since it featured the entire star cast of the film – Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta, Sajid wanted a grand Indian canvas to be created for ‘Piya Ka Bazaar’.

“A huge set was mounted in Mumbai with 500 background dancers . This is the largest ensemble that Sajid has ever gathered for a song in a film of his,” the source adds.

“It is a known fact that producer Vashu Bhagnani is a huge supporter of commercial music ingredients in his films. He gave more than what was asked from him when it came to the making of the song. So right from the art design to the costumes to the lighting to the multiple camera set up and most importantly the days required for the shoot, Vashuji and Sajid wanted to make sure that ‘Piya Ka Bazaar’ was a highlight of the film.” said the source excitingly.

When contacted, Sajid didn’t deny that ‘Piya Ka Bazaar’ was the most massive number he had ever put together. He refused to put a number to that though. “My job is to entertain and I would rather like you to enjoy the song,’ he said.

It therefore remains to be seen if all the money put in the song translates to success at the box office.

Tollywood’s very own ‘Milky Beauty’ will be next seen in ‘Humshakals’.

In a recent interview, she expressed her feelings on working with Bipasha Basu in the movie. Apparently, Tamannaah got along quite well with Bipasha Basu and Eesha Gupta. And she did not hesitate to reveal how much fun she had while working with them on the sets of the film. The trio’s chemistry was quite evident in the new song, ‘Piya Ke Bazar’, which was unveiled today.

After Ileana and Nargis Fakhri, it looks like now it’s Tamannaah turn to make news for sharing a great rapport with her co-stars.

Tamannaah is also busy shooting for her upcoming ambitious venture, ‘Aagadu’. She would be soon returning to the sets of ‘Baahubali’.
