The much-awaited biopic of legendary actress Savitri, which titled as Mahanati released in Telugu and Tamil languages took the box office by heavy storm. In Tamil, the film titled Nadigayar Tilagam and impressed the audience. There are few scenes in the film that sparked the controversy and even received a backlash from the daughters of Gemini Ganeshan.

Gemini Ganesh married four women, Alimelu, Pushpavalli, Savitri, and Julia. He had seven daughters and one son. His first wife had four daughters, Pushpavalli blessed with two daughters and Savitri had one son and daughter. Bollywood star heroine Rekha is the daughter of Pushpavalli and Gemini Ganeshan. Even though, they didn’t stay together, but maintains a cordial relationship with each other and meet for at least once in a year. Recently, they met and the photograph of seven sisters went viral on social media.

Mahanati is the prestigious project that is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by the daughters of Ashwini Dutt under Swapna cinema and Vyjayanthi Movies banner. The film has Keerthi Suresh in the role of the Savitri and Dulquer Salman in the role of Gemini Ganesan. Meanwhile, the Bollywood senior actress Rekha who is the daughter of Gemini Ganesan from his first wife Pushpa Valli opened up about the project. She revealed that she is willing to watch the film.

As the film Mahanati depicts the life of her father, Rekha has decided to watch the film and get to know what has been shown in the movie. When the film was announced, Rekha got interested in the project but later she had many doubts about the movie. As the film released now, she has informed the producers that she wanted to watch the movie.
