Young hero Nikhil’s Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada has stunned even trade pundits by collecting Rs 38 crores worldwide in 30 days. This is a great achievement because of two reasons. Situations were not normal when the film hit the screens and producers spent good budget having faith on the subject penned by VI Anand.

Demonetization effect was high on industry and several films got postponed. Nikhil and his team had huge hopes on the film and proving them right EPC opened to record collections. In fact, openings were highest ever in Nikhil’s career. EPC did extremely well in overseas too. The film came almost close to 1 million mark.

Nnadita Swetha’s performance, Hebah Patel’s glamor, Avika Gor’s remarkable cameo, VI Anand’s making, Sekhar Chandra’s work on BGM, Sai Sriram’s brilliant cinematography are the biggest assets of the film, apart from Nikhil’s graceful acting.

Nikhil’s latest film Ekkadikipothavu Chinnavada is going big these days. The film is doing well at the box office, and the makers wanted to promote the film more to take the movie reach many audiences. Nikhil Siddharth who debuted with Sekhar Khammula’s Happy days has become a bankable actor by choosing different subjects and not choosing formulaic and beaten to death content except for his last movie Sankarabharanam of Kona Venkat. He is now coming with Vi Anand who debuted with Sundeep Kishan and Rahul Ravindran starrer Tiger. Co-starring Hebah Patel of Kumar 21F and Telugu debutante Nanditha Swetha. Story

Arjun (Nikhil Siddharth) is a ditched by a girl when he is about to marry her in a registrar office. He then decides not to wait for anyone. He goes to Kerala with his friend’s brother (Vennela Kishore), who is psychologically affected by ghost. Arjun then meets Amala (Hebah Patel) in the cottage he lived in Kerala and they both fall for each other. She leaves Kerala without telling him. Arjun then searches for her with the clues he had known when he was with her in Kerala and finds that she was dead years ago. Who is the real Amala? What happened to her? What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Cast and Performance

Nikhil Siddharth has done fantastic job as Arjun. He is improving a lot by every movie and has given a very matured performance. Hebah Patel as Amala is good.She looks so beautiful in Neetho unte chaalu song and performed well. Nandita Swetha performed very well and it is a good debut for her.Vennela Kishore is hilarious and made audience rofl with his funny body language and dialogues. Satya is good. Sri Harsha is okay and is monotonous in every movie having something to eat in his hands. Praveen as Ganta and Prudhvi as psychologist are good and made us felt their presence even for the small screen time. Sudharshan is good and others are good.

Writing Department

Story of Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavadaa is nice and different. Screenplay is gripping and dialogues are well written by Abburi Ravi.

Technical Departments

Songs composed by Sekhar Chandra are fantastic and are ear feast. He is delivering quality content for Nikhil movies like Karthikeya and this movie. He has done nice job in composing soulful background score to elevate and make movie interesting. Cinematography by Sai Sriram is superb. Visuals are rich with colors and beautiful locations are captured well. Editing by Chota K Prasad is racy and crispy. He did fine job. Production values are apt for the content.

Verdict

Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavadaa begins with a failure love story of Nikhil Siddharth which builds his character as the one who never like to wait for someone or something. This half runs in the same way that every Telugu movie run with comedy scenes without revealing any story but just setting up the story which reveals as an interval bang. Despite of its routine screenplay of comedy sequences it is highly entertaining. It ends with an unexpected twist which at a point everyone find it surprising and the eagerness to watch the other half goes sky high. Second half begins on an interesting note and runs with a gripping screenplay which is highly entertaining. Director VI Anand has done fantastic work with his second film. He should be appreciated for not going away from his story. To summarise, this movie brings Nikhil back on success track.
