After facing consecutive flops as the lead hero, Sunil has decided to make a comeback as a comedian and supporting artist but things are not going as he expected them to be. Due to the heavy competition between comedians and the lack of good roles, Sunil didn’t click in his comeback as well.

Though he acted in supporting characters in films like Padi Padi Leche Manasu, Aravinda Sametha, and Chitralahari, none of them helped him to get back his lost glory. Now, he is playing a crucial role in Ravi Teja’s Disco Raja. Meanwhile, he has also signed another project.

Apparently, Sunil has signed to play a key role in action hero Gopichand’s upcoming film, Chanakya. Touted to be a spy thriller, the role of Sunil will be a serious one in this film, contrary to his regular comic roles. The film is being directed by Thiru and Mehreen is the heroine in it.

Remembering that bitter experience, Sunil said, ‘that interview wasn’t planned. I am a calm person, and if I get angry, it means that the host failed. Before the interview, he told me that he would ask some strong questions and I also told him that my answers will be equally strong. Talking about one’s cast is intolerable, and I gave him a fitting reply’.

The comedy entertainer has been titled Jakkanna. For the first, Sunil has grabbed Rajamouli’s popular name ‘Jakkanna’ to score a hit. It may be noted that Sunil became a full-fledged hero with Rajamouli’s”Maryada Ramanna”. Sunil has recently scored a dud with ‘Krishnashtami’ so he hopes to bounce back with the craze of Rajamouli at least.

Sunil is romancing Priyanka Chopra’s cousin sister Mannara Chopra in this film. Jakkanna is being directed by Vamshi Krishna Akella and produced by Sudharshan Reddy who had earlier produced the super hit horror comedy Prema Katha Chitram.
