Actress Sonali Bendre has recently revealed that the doctors said that there were only 30 per cent chances of her survival. It is known that she was suffering from cancer and underwent treatment for a year in the US. After recovering fully from cancer, she headed back to India a few days back.

In a recent interview to a magazine, she said, “It was revealed in the scan that cancer had spread all over my abdomen, like fairy lights scattered all over, and when the doctor in New York said that there was about 30 per cent chance of it all going away, we were shattered.”

“But the thought of death didn’t come to me. I thought this was going to be a long struggle, but I never thought I’d die,” she added. She also asked that the patients should be with family and friends in those tough phases which will help them to mentally overcome the disease.

Irrfan Khan is one of the popular actors from the Bollywood film industry who is not new to the Telugu audiences as well. The sensational actor was seen in the film Sainikudu as the lead antagonist. Sometime back, he was diagnosed with cancer which is called neuroendocrine tumor that is seen very rare.

Irrfan immediately moved to the USA for the treatment and the good news is that he is completely recovered from cancer now. Apparently, the news broke out recently that Irffan is doing well and he is all set to return India and get back to the work.

Director and actor Tigmanshu Dhulia has confirmed the same with the media saying that Irrfan is recovered and will join the sequel of Hindi Medium that is going to begin soon.

Hrithik Roshan is one of the popular actors in Bollywood film industry. His father Rakesh Roshan is the person who shaped Hrithik’s career in a proper way. Rakesh worked hard in the initial days of Hrithik’s career to keep him on the right path. Both the son-father duo delivered a lot of successful movies. Hrithik Roshan posted, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn’t miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family, we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him.”

On the work front, Hrithik’s next movie is titled Super26, which is a biopic.

Popular Bollywood singer Lucky Ali made some comments on the social media in the recent times. The comments have created a lot of doubts for which he has now held a press meet and gave a clarification. Recently Lucky Ali posted, “Dear Chemotherapy never become an alternative” posted Lucky Ali.

These comments have resulted in a lot of confusion in the netizens if he has cancer. In the context of Bollywood actors Irrfan Khan and Sonali Bendre have been diagnosed with cancer, Lucky Ali’s comments have grabbed a lot of attention.

Lucky Ali who came to know about the same has held a press meet and told that he is doing absolutely fine. He said that he is not a cancer patient but told that his friend died of cancer recently. He said that his friend did not show any interest in opting for chemotherapy and hence he made such comments.

Actress Sonali Bendre who appeared in Telugu movies like Murari, Indra, Manmadhudu etc is diagnosed with a high stage cancer. Sonali took her Twitter to announce the same. The post denotes that Sonali has been diagnosed with stage-4.

Sonali states that she is currently undergoing treatment for Cancer in New York. This emotional confession by Sonali has left everyone in a shock. Sonali promises to be more optimistic during the treatment.

In an elaborate note Sonali wrote, “Sometimes when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with high-grade cancer that has metastasized, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them.”

Comedian Krishna Bhagavan, who is known for his razor sharp dialogue delivery, has been missing from movies in the past couple of years.

There have been rumors that Krishna Bhagavan is suffering from cancer. Now, responding to the rumors, the ace comedian said that he is suffering from back pain so he has been staying away from films to practice Yoga and take care of his health.

He added that his back pain is spread by few media houses as cancer. Given the dreaded disease has taken the lives of many Tollywood actors in the recent times, many started enquiring Krishna Bhagavan about his health condition.

An irritated Krisha Bhagavan said that now people really think that he is suffering from cancer so not many filmmakers are daring to offer him films.

Actress Manisha Koirala is one of the many brave cancer survivors who fought with the disease and made it. The Bollywood Diva of the 90’s was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012, a type that is usually difficult to detect till its later stages. Manisha took the blow very calmly and underwent a long chemotherapy in New York and fought it out with the deadly disease.

Koirala is now back in action, trying to play the roles that interest her. She has also taken to a lot of spirituality and meditation after the post traumatic recovery; both with the cancer and her painful divorce. She opened up to the media about the prevailing fears about a possible relapse.

“I did not take care of my health earlier…I was not looking after myself. Cancer made me realise health is important, eating right is important, exercise is required. There is a fear that it can come back anytime. But one must be positive” she said, while speaking to PTI at the launch of Prevention Magazine. Manisha features on the cover page of the first edition.

The actress who was diagnosed with the disease at an age of 43 shared her views on the social stigma in vogue on the patients who suffer and survive. “Cancer is a huge challenge, a huge test some of us survive and some don’t due to various reasons. There is lot of stigma attached to it, you lose all hope, your family is also living in negative environment, you feel there is a dead end. But I was fortunate to have people around me who helped me and were there with me emotionally” she shared.

Manisha also gave words of power to all those who are either suffering from cancer or fearing its relapse – “Cancer is not the death sentence, there is hope. Science has changed by leaps and bounds. Today we are able to deal with the treatment. I want to raise hope for people who don’t have hope, who don’t have access, resources. I will do something through certain platform. In certain ways, I want to repay back to the needy” she signs off.
