Amidst huge hype and criticism, popular producer Dil Raju grabbed the remake rights of the film 96 for a hefty price. The director who made the film in Tamil will make his debut in Telugu for this project.

Vijay Setupathi and Trisha Krishnan played the lead roles in the original and the same characters will now be played by Sharwanand and Samantha in Telugu. As per the buzz, different titles were doing rounds for the project but we learned the exclusive update about the film’s title.

Touted be a period love story set in the 1990s, with Trisha as the female lead the movie became a super hit and made huge collections at the box office. To show his gratitude towards the director Prem Kumar, Vijay Sethupathi has gifted an expensive bike to him. As per the latest reports, Vijay Sethupathi has spent 3 lakhs rupees for a Royal Enfield bike and gifted it to Prem Kumar. Interestingly, he also registered the bike number as ‘0096’. Sources are claiming that Vijay loves bikes and especially he is a big fan of Royal Enfield.

On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi is currently busy with a bunch of high budget films. He is also playing a vital role in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’.

Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha paired up for the first time for an upcoming film titled 96. The movie traces the journey of a love couple in different phases of their lives. Prem Kumar who worked as a cinematographer for the films Pasanga, Sundar Pandian and others is making his directional debut with this movie. The shoot of the film is currently in progress and everyone is so positive about the film’s output.

The makers revealed that the first look of the film will be out on 12th of this month. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as a travel photographer and Trisha will be playing the role of Jaanu. Janaka Raj, the popular comedy actor is making his re-entry with this film.

The movie also stars Kali Venkat, Muragadhan and others. Govind Menon is the music director and the film’s release date will be announced soon.
