The Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections were held a couple of days back, in Hyderabad. Actor Naresh VK has been elected as the new president of MAA, dethroning Shivaji Raja. While Naresh got 268 votes in total, Shivaji Raja had to settle with only 199 votes.
Meanwhile, the absence of many artists at the polling became a point of discussion in the industry right now. Especially, none of the top league actors bothered to vote in the elections. Actresses like Rakul Preet, Samantha, Keerthy Suresh, who are members of MAA, didn’t show up to vote at all.
Overall, only 480 votes were polled against a total of around 780 eligible voters. Only a couple of actresses like Sanjana and Priyamani have cast their votes. On the flip side, star actors like Mahesh Babu, Venkatesh, NTR, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun also haven’t cast their votes, which is not a good sign at all.
