He has recently bagged the SIIMA 2016- Best comedian award for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Balaji is tipped to be playing actor Karthi’s friend in this upcoming film of Mani Ratnam. The principal shooting of the project will commence from Friday in Ooty. To be produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, the film will have Aditi Rao Hydari as the female lead and AR Rahman will compose music.
