Popular actress Kovai Sarala has joined in Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Needhi Maiam(MNM), making her debut in active politics. She had taken the membership of the party the other day in the presence of party’s president Kamal Haasan. Though it was rumored for so many days that Kovai Sarala is entering into politics, she has chosen women’s day to make her political entry.
Speaking at the event, Sarala said ” Makkal Needhi Maiam might soon become Maligar (women) Needhi Maiam as there is an increasing number of women into the party. Women are being repressed in Tamil Nadu. This must change. I think that would happen only with MNM.”
Kamal welcomed Kovai Sarala into his party by saying that it is great to see so many women are joining the party which indicates the change in society. Kamal already stated that his party would be contesting in upcoming Lok Sabha elections from all the constituencies of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.
