After beginning in career as a Visual Effects Coordinator for Tollywood films, Rana didn’t see the stardom coming towards him. With bagging to Nandi award (one for Special Effects for Sainikudu) and a National Award (for producing Bommalata) he made his first silver screen debut with Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Leader.’ This film brought him a good identity after playing the role of Arjun Prasad who is a young CM of the state of A.P.

Post ‘Leader,’ Rana got a call from Bollywood director Rohan Sippy. By agreeing to do ‘Dum Maro Dum,’ Rana made his entry in Hindi. After a series of failures like Nenu Naa Rakshasi, Naa Ishtam and Department the Daggubati hero was lying low on success until ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum.’

Rana also made his Kollywood debut with Ajith starrer ‘Arrambam.’

His career now can be addressed as before and after ‘Baahubali.’ Such huge impact is what the film has made. Finding success as a hero with bits and pieces, Rana took the crucial decision of playing the antagonist in Baahubali. With portraying the role of Ballaladeva, Rana proved that his judgment was right. He, who termed Ballaladeva character as ‘the best bad ass villain in Indian Cinema,’ made his word true.

This year has been the most success full year in his career with super hits like ‘Baby’ ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Rudhramadevi.’

Rana is hoping that the success spree will continue the next year too as films of his like ‘Baahubali-2’ ‘Arjun, Divya Matrum Karthik’, ‘Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’ and Ghazi in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

Let’s hope that he celebrates many more successful years. Happy Birthday Rana.
