Sentiment, a word that is overheard among the circles of film industry. After the humongous success of Anushka starrer Arundhathi, many movie came with the same formula. Some worked and some not. Prema Katha Chitram came with adding humor element to horror element which became a super success at box office and many innumerable films came in that genre in which some failed miserably at box office while some become super success. Latest addition to that list is Taapsee and Srinivasa reddy starrer Anando Brahma, which is a being directed by Mahi V Raghav, who earlier directed Paatashala, produced by Vijay Chilla, Shasi Devireddy. Let’s see how it works on us as it is releasing today.
An NRI (Rajeev Kanakala) who is based in Malaysia decide to sell his ancestral property as his parents died. The real estate agent who is hired to sell this property creates a rumour that the house is haunted by ghosts as he thinks it fetches him good amount of commission from NRI. A bar waiter (Srinivasa Reddy) comes into a deal with that NRI that he would prove that rumour is false and make the easy way for selling the property after hearing it in his bar. The NRI agrees to that and bar waiter along with his three friends (Vennela Kishore, Tagubothu Ramesh and Shakalaka Shankar) takes up the mission. Did they complete their mission? What is Taapsee role in that? How they do it form the rest of the story.
Cast and performance
Taapsee is good in her role and she looked good on screen. She doesn’t get much to perform in this movie. Srinivasa Reddy is superb in his role and he made audience go crazy with his mannerisms and witty dialogues. He is definitely one of the backbone for this movie. Thagubothu Ramesh is good as usual in his routine drunkard role and he managed to impress and make audience laugh with his role. Shakalaka Shankar is nice and the way he imitates RGV and the way he performed in the scenes is superb. He is entertaining mostly. Vennela Kishore is humorous and he is good with his expressions. Rajeev Kanakala got a good role after a long time and he played it with so ease and conviction. All other actors are good to the extent of their roles.
Story of this Anando Brahma is good and simple. Screenplay is written good and it is nice in the second half. Dialogues are situational as well as witty.
Songs composed by Krishna Kumar are good and he did a nice job in scoring background score and elevated some scenes. Cinematography by Anish Tarun Kumar is nice and he has shot some eye appealing visuals for this movie. Editing by Sravan Katikaneni is good and he did a fine job in maintaining a crispy cut. Art department handled by Rama Krishna and Monika did fine job. Production values are good.
Unique concept and screenplay
Hilarious second half
Slow first half
Anando Brahma which impressed audience with its trailers and poster is now in theatres giving a superb hilarious and roller coaster ride to audience. This movie has good content which is lacking in many big budgeted movies. Directed Mahi V Raghav did a nice job in handling this movie. He do not waste any time and directly jumps into the story and the way he introduced the characters and their backstories are nice. After the introduction of all the characters in the first half, second half makes audience laugh continuously and all the actors on screen succeeded well in making that. Although makers released music album of the movie, there are no songs in the movie. To sum up, Anando Brahma is a promising film made with a very less budget.
