Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been picking interesting roles after marriage. As per the latest, she is going to play the villain role in an upcoming high budget film.
Aishwarya is reportedly going to play a negative character in the period drama ‘Ponniyan Selvan’ being directed by Mani Ratnam whose previous outing ‘Chekka Chivantha Vanam’ ended up as a dud at the box office. If the buzz is to be believed, the story takes place in the 10th century before Raja Raja Chola became a king. Aishwarya will be seen as Nandini, Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar’s wife who was the chancellor and treasurer of the Chola kingdom. She was a mysterious, power-hungry woman who manipulated her husband and made the downfall of the Chola empire as a part of her revenge.
Vikram, Simbu, Jaya Ravi, Amala Paul are also rumored to have come onboard for the film. Huge sets are currently being erected for the film and the shooting will go on floors by the end of 2019.
