Maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has made some swashbuckling movies like Devdas, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani etc. is gearing up to carve out the biggest project of his career.
He has already roped in Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor for his magnum opus ‘Padmavati’. The film tells the story of Mongolian king Allauddin Khilji’s fascination for queen Padmavati. As the film is alll about kings and queens, war scenes are bound to be present in the film.
Reports suggest that the makers have allotted Rs 12 Cr to film the climax war scenes. Interestingly, no VFX will be used for these scenes and everything will be canned aesthetically, using real elephants, horses, thousands of extra artists etc. Makers are confident that it will be a visual treat for audiences.
A total of Rs 170 Cr budget has been allocated for this project, which has recently gone on floors.
