We are presenting you the brief description of Vikram Bhatt’s blockbuster hits in his career.
Ghulam is totally inspired from 1954 Hollywood classic ‘On the Waterfront’ and this film is considered as one of Vikram Bhatt’s better works. In this action drama, Aamir Khan exerted himself and pulled off the demanding character of Munna. However, the film which was released in 1998 was the biggest hit of Vikram Bhatt’s career.
This film is an out-and-out replica of Hollywood action thriller ‘Jagged Edge’, Kasoor had promised to offer something different to the audience, but failed to deliver on the promise. Though the film received mixed response, many film critics felt that Vikram didn’t do justice to the engaging tale. Nevertheless, the film caught immediate attention for Lisa Ray’s sizzling presence and some hummable numbers.
Raaz, which was released in 2002, is one of Vikram Bhatt’s most memorable movies. In fact, Raaz, starring Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea helped enrich Vikram’s portfolio. Vikram also set the cash registers ringing with this spine-chilling horror flick.
Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage:
Vikram tried to explore into a mainstream love story with this film but it was a complete disappointment. Hrithik Roshan and Amisha Patel had tasted overnight success with their debut film Kaho Na Pyar Hain and Vikram decided to cast the newly emerged star couple in his film. The box office collections of AMALL surprised many people.
Aawara Paagal Deewana:
Much to his detractors’ surprise, Vikram Bhatt experimented with a genre he’s hardly associated with and delivered a good comedy flick. Though it didn’t receive great reviews, the film went on to become a hit.
Deewane Huye Paagal:
The film is based on American comedy film ‘There’s Something About Mary’, Vikram Bhatt’s Deewane Huye Paagal just didn’t manage to impress. Touted to be a comedy entertainer, it just didn’t have what it takes to make the audience laugh.
After giving an apparently never-ending string of flops, Vikram returned to what he does better – horror. Before its release, 1920 was touted as the classic spine-schilling film. It managed to set up a chilling mood and scare the audience in parts, but didn’t manage to earn profits at the box office.
Released in the year 2010, Vikram Bhatt’s Shapit is watchable in parts; it gave a promising start, created an intriguing drama but ended with a sad note. Enjoyed mainly by college goers Shapit’s over the top hysteria, never ending screeches and striking background score killed its otherwise hatke plot.
Haunted – 3D:
A young broker (Mahaakshay) has the arduous job of selling off a haunted house in the hills. But before he can do that, he chooses to exorcise the house of its shrieking ghosts. More interestingly, it means travelling back in time to re-align an unsavoury incident that occurred 80 years ago. Can the broker seal his deal?

Hate Story 2
Released in the year 2014. Hate Story 2 is a revenge drama on the lines of Rakesh Roshan’s Khoon Bhari Maang and Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill movies. What it lacks is an A-grade star cast. Also, this one is slightly more predictable in pattern. However, the doses of erotica added to the screenplay just to give it that gleeful taste work well.

After completing 20 years in the industry and making over 20 films, Vikram Bhatt is ever-willing to take risks. He has received criticism for making duds like Madhosh, Footpath, Jurm, Elaan, Ankahee but he has also played a launch vehicle for stars like Bipasah Basu, Aftab Shivdasani and Aditya Narayan through his films. He even gave a second break to Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahakshay with Haunted 3D.
