Well, as always, it seems to be boiling down to a ‘hype war’ between Vijay’s Kaththi and Ajith’s Thala 55 now – or at least that’s what it looks like with both trying completely different strategies for a promotional win! After all, both are aiming for a Diwali release..
While Thala 55, with Gautham Menon at the helm, is all about building anticipation by keeping everything tightly under wraps, AR Murugadoss has opted for giving the fans what they need and what they will cheer for, with his movie Kaththi.
Yes, Kaththi has a digital poster coming out on Youtube, accompanied by the theme music of the movie, on June 22 – Vijay’s b’day no less! Very clever PR campaigning indeed by ARM and crew.
And now to top it off , like in all of his latest movies, Vijay is going to be singing in this one too!
Ever since he sang the song Google Google in Thuppakki (also an ARM movie), which went on to become a chart topper by the way, the actor seems to have gotten a sort of midas touch for music in his flicks.
The song Kandangi Kandangi from Jilla, sung by the actor, was also a big hit. That sure makes him a really well rounded hero, given the fact that he is already known for his impressive dancing skills, mass style and action stylings onscreen too!
For this one though, the composer of the tunes in the film – the very talented and very young Anirudh Ravichander – is trying something new. A fusion of popular Tamil movie music trends if you will, by combining the rhythm and thrills of a ‘kuthu’ song and the melody of a romantic song. And voila – we have ourselves a ‘love kuthu song’ folks!
Anirudh is currently busy finishing up the song in question and Vijay is expected to walk in to the studios soon and record it in the days to come.
Let’s wait and see how this one turns out; but if the track record of the star is anything to go by, we are bound to have another chart buster on our hands!
