The alleged inflammatory remarks of the TRS MP and popular South Indian actress, Ms Vijayasanthi, has come under the Election Commission’s scanner, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Mr I.V. Subba Rao,said on Thursday.
The Central Election Commission in Delhi would decide on any action to be taken against the TRS MP, Mr Rao said.
Ms Vijayasanthi had reportedly asked the Telangana supporters on Wednesday to "chop down the foes of Telangana".
Against the backdrop of some Telangana supporters issuing threats to those contesting the by-elections in the region on July 27, the CEO had earlier asserted that any inflammatory statements would not be tolerated.
He made an appeal to the political parties and leaders again to refrain from making any inflammatory statements.
Bypolls would be held for 12 assembly constituencies in Telangana on July 27.(PTI)
