The man who tickled funny bones with a simple smirk, veteran method actor, Deven Verma breathed his last on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Known for a series of comic roles and wonderful acting skills, Deven Verma was a household name in the 70s.
The 77 year old star passed away in his sleep at around 2 a.m. due to heart attack and kidney failure. He is survived by wife Rupa Ganguly who is the daughter of late Bollywood Veteran Ashok Kumar.
Deven Verma has many cult classics to his name like “Angoor”, “Golmaal”, “Chori Mera Kaam”, “Andaz Apna Apna”, “Ishq”, “Bemisal”, “Judaai”, “Dil To Paagal Hai”, and “Kora Kagaz”among others.
The last rites of the star will be performed at Yerawada crematorium. Bollywood mourns his death. Our condolences to the Verma family. May his soul rest in peace!
