Going by the latest information from the film circles, veteran female singer K Rani who crooned the hit number ‘Anthaa Braanthi Yena’ for Devasau movie, passed away last night at her daughter’s residence in Kalyan Nagar, Hyderabad. The 75 years old singer is most popular for pathos songs in the olden times. She has sung more than 500 songs in multiple languages.
Rani who was facing health issues failed to receive the treatment and left the world. She started her singing journey when she was nine. She also registered a record by singing the national anthem of Srilanka.
She married Seetha Rami Reddy in 1951 and stayed away from singing. She also gave a performance at Rashtrapathi Bhavan during the time of Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan. Some film and political personalities have expressed their condolences on the sudden demise of the senior singer.
