In this flick, the gorgeous actress will be pairing up with none other than Kunchacko Boban! This would also be Kunchacko’s second film with director Vysakh after Visuddhan.
Vedika’s previous film in Mollywood was Sringaravelan, and her debut film, in the business, was Madrasi in Tamil. Currently, she is also playing the female lead in Prithviraj- Siddharth starrer Kaaviyathalaivan, which is a period musical epic featuring over 20 songs from the masterful A R Rahman.
Now, as Mollywood fans, with Vedika and others following suit, we must heed the positive signs here…
It is now and has been for some time, a notable trend in Mollywood to have actors from other states pop in for one or two films at the most, and then get back to the ‘bigger bucks’ industries like Tamil and Telugu to build their careers.
Whilst the Malayalam film industry is known for its talent pool, veterans and amazing technicians, we still remain a pretty small industry in terms of monetary turn over.
Let’s hope, with language and cultural boundaries starting to blur these days with the revolution in media, many more artists in the south may work in multiple industries and soon the lines which separate us artistically and commercially may be erased – well, at least in cinema.
