Top TV star Ronit Roy was arrested in Mumbai today (October 27) after his car rammed into another vehicle injuring three of its four occupants, including a woman who was in a critical condition.
The incident occurred in the Andheri West area around 6.30am. The other car was thrown off the road and overturned.
According to the police, Ronit helped to take the injured women to the nearby Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.
But he did not inform the police and went away from the hospital. Police acted after the victims complained.
Rohit was then arrested. He was sent for a medical check-up to ascertain if he had consumed alcohol.
The actor, who started his career with the movie ‘Jaan Tere Naam’ in 1992, became popular on televison with shows like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’ and ‘Bandini’.
He was also part of the acclaimed movie ‘Udaan’, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
Currently he stars as a successful lawyer in the weekly TV show ‘Adaalat’.(IANS)
