Earlier this month, the council announced six important demands, calling them vital steps towards a complete revamp of the industry. It included calls for the digital service providers to stop charging VPF, the implementation of flexible ticket pricing, and a reduction of online booking charges, and the regulation of production costs by a body called the Tamil Nadu Film Development Corporation.

Vishal also called upon the Tamil Nadu government to interfere and break the current stalemate. He further added that members of the film industry will march on a procession towards Fort St George and present their demands to TN Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami, and Information & Broadcasting Minister, Kadambur Raju, on Wednesday, April 4. The press meet was also attended by FEFSI head RK Selvamani, Karthi on behalf of the Nadigar Sangam, and PC Sreeram on behalf of the cinematographers’ association.
