Tollywood shootings Bandh is continuing from the past two weeks. Yesterday and day before yesterday Telugu Film Producers Council and Andhra Pradesh Film Employees Federation had the meeting to resolve the ongoing strike, but the meeting was ended up without any solution.
On the other hand thousands of cine workers who were eagerly waiting for the stand-off to be resolved.
In the course of discussions, the Producers’ Council agreed to the offer of the Federation to suspend 10-odd unruly stuntmen who had assaulted kin of action director Stun Siva on December 8. However, the Producers’ Council was reluctant to heed the Federation’s demand to suspend stunt master Stun Siva for hiring more Tamil fighters.
“The Federation was insisting on suspending Stun Siva but the Council was reluctant since he has to finish two big films, Shakti and Kandhireega. Despite the Council assuring action against him, if he has violated norms, the employees were adamant," said a source.
A clash between Andhra stuntmen and Chennai stuntmen on the sets of Kandhireega on December 8 snowballed into a shutdown when the Federation failed to turn up for talks with the Council. A week later, the Federation sent a letter to the Council urging for a “meeting” to discuss the issues and finally met on Tuesday.
“We had discussions with council members but nothing came out of it. We couldn’t arrive at a consensus on many key issues, so the stalemate continues,” said Mr Kotagiri Venkateswar Rao, president, Andhra Pradesh
