The world’s most trusted ‘internet movies database’, or IMDB, as it is popularly known, has unveiled the Top 10 Indian Movies of 2017 on Thursday with South Indian films dominating the list.
The website boasts of a combined web and mobile audience of over 250 million individual monthly visitors. IMDB has released a list of the 10 most favourite Indian movies on the website for the year 2017 that is nothing short of a triumph for regional cinema. The Vijay Sethupathi-Madhavan starrer ‘VikramVedha’ (Tamil) was number one on the list followed by T-town wonders like SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and the trendsetting ‘Arjun Reddy’.
Movies themed on social consciousness have resonated among users, with Aamir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’ is fourth on the list. The pattern sure follows with ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Toilet- EkPrem Katha’, ’Jolly LLB 2’ and Vijay’s action-thriller, ‘Mersal’.
Interestingly, rated at the 10th place is ‘The Great Father’, the Malayalam film starring Mammootty and Sneha.
