S.S.Rajamouli’s magnum epic ‘Baahubali’ was received enormously…well no complaints about it. The way this film projected the hero, villain and other characters was spectacular. Visual effects stood as the backbone of this film’s success. With grossing over Rs 650 Cr all over, ‘Baahubali’ also stood as the top grosser in Indian Film Industry.
On the other we had Super Star Mahesh Babu’s family entertainer ‘Srimanthudu.’ Having two flops with two previous films, Mahesh aimed high and reached it with the sensation of Srimanthudu. Not an attempt to compare Baahubali with Srimanthudu but Koratala Siva’s magic once again worked as made ‘Srimanthudu’ the second highest grosser in Telugu Cinema following ‘Baahhubali.’
These films that had huge prospect over them reached them effortlessly and left theatres. On 25th of October ‘Baahubali’ was telecasted on MAA TV and on 12th of November ‘Srimanthudu’ in ZEE Telugu.
These two films that fought the TRP battle finally resulted in ‘Baahubali’ winning the competition. Though this wasn’t a serious battle for common audience, fans of Prabhas and Mahesh Babu took it prestigiously as all were waiting for the TRP results declared by the respective channels.
As per TRP ratings, ‘Baahubali’ registered 21.84 rating when telecasted on MAA, Srimanthudu fetched 21.24. Although Srimanthudu still managed to beat Baahubali to an extent, how?
‘Baahubali’ TRP rating in Urban area’s was 22.53 where ‘Srimanthudu,’ with no trouble fetched 24.8 TRP. That’s how Srimanthudu defeated Baahubali…..to some extent.
