Story

Siddharth Reddy (Sai Dharam Tej), works as a creative head for New Look newspaper, who hates the concept of races and horses. He comes across Sitara (Rakul Preet) in a birthday party and falls for her at the first sight and starts following her which she hates. In one of such instance, where Siddhu is hurt by Sitara, he reveals a secret which she has been hiding from her family to her father over phone call in a drunken state and her father arranges her marriage with Adi (Thakur Anoop Singh), the very next day. Sitara opposes her father in the marriage venue and reveals that she is in love with Siddharth Reddy and gives him the false identity of a top racer in Hyderabad to take revenge on him for spoiling her dreams and creates a challenge between Siddhu and Adhi. What is that challenge? How he wins it? It forms the rest of the story.

Cast and Performance

Sai Dharam Tej as Siddharth Reddy is superb and he plays it with so much of ease and charm. His energy levels are added advantage for the character/ He looks handsome with his well designed costumes. Rakul Preet plays her character Sitara convincingly and is gorgeous. Jagapathi Babu is as usual in the role of Mahendar Reddy. Thakur Anoop Singh performed well but the voice given for his age seems odd. Prudhvi as Singham Sujatha is hilarious. Ali as Peter Heins, Vennela Kishore as Padma evoke laughs throughout the movie. All other actors played their part well.

Technical Departments

Songs composed by SS Thaman are nice and he did his bit with background score to lift the movie wherever possible and rocked especially in action sequences. Chota K Naidu is the first person comes to mind when talked about this movie for the fantastic visuals and colourful frames. Editing is good and could have been better in the second half. Action sequences and dances are well choreographed by respective departments. Production values are rich.

Writing Department

Story line of Winner is simple and interesting. Screenplay is not well written and disappoints in the second half. Dialogues are okay and fail to create necessary emotional impact as targeted.

Verdict

Movie begins with a nice emotional tale of father and son and their bonding. This half runs in a hilarious way with Prudhvi as SIgham Sujatha and Vennela Kishore who makes audience glued to screen with their mannerisms. There comes a point where audience get more excited about how the director is gonna clear the conflicts in second half with the predictable yet interesting interval bang. Second half begins with the excitement of first half and disappoints audience in every way possible except for Ali’s sequences. Director could have taken better care in writing screenplay for this half and solving conflicts. To sumup. WInner is not a full meal as promised by the team for this Maha Siva Rathri.

Supreme Star Sai Dharam Tej is riding high on records like a wild horse. His tomorrow releasing WINNER is set to chase the box office records beginning its course from Nellore.
