The entire incident is in connection to the recent comments of Kerala MLA PC George. George made comments on the Kerala Nun that she was a prostitute. Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar responded to the incident and criticised the Kerala MLA. She said that the incident was a shameful act. Vivek Agnihotri responded to the same.

He replied her saying, “Where is the Placard #MeToo Prostitute Nun” Swara immediately responded that she is only supporting the rape victims and acknowledged that the women need support. She also gave a counter to Vivek saying that he is thinking in an ugly manner.

The netizens heavily criticized Vivek for his untimely tweets. He realized his mistake and removed his tweet. Immediately, Twitter also responded and deleted his account. Swara thanked Twitter for eliminating his account.

Bollywood director Vivek Agnihotri’s comments created a sensation in the film industry. Inspired from the global movements like #MeToo and Time’s Up, Vivek took his social media to express that not just women, but also men are subjected to sexual harassment and abuse by the ones who are in power.

It all began with accusations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, that he started to reveal a few incidents. His nephew who wanted to step into Bollywood was sexually harassed and abused.

Vivek Agnihotri wrote on his twitter timeline,”I tweeted in the context that it’s not just women who are forced to compromise, that even young boys do go through the trauma. It can’t be just a women’s #MeToo,” he said. “If one tries to expose the Harvey Weinsteins of Bollywood, some very big empires and icons will fall down. My nephew was a victim of one of those. But who will fight their muscle? You need many Kangana Ranauts for that.”

He also concluded that there are three kinds of politics in the movie industry — sexual politics, money politics and power politics. A desperate actor can become a victim of any of these political games. Some people are forced to sleep around. Some are forced to invest money for a two-bit role. Some are just forced to give in to the power of the employer,” he added.

Now that Vivek Agnihotri has spoken this, it says that there are more bugs in the movie industry than we imagine.
